My wife and I are planning a long weekend away for our second anniversary the end of June and we are having trouble picking a place to go. I'm now looking for suggestions. Recommendations of places to stay, places to eat, and things to do while there would also be helpful.

I live within six hours of Cincinnati. It could be a rest stop on your way to somewhere really cool, like the G&R in Waldo. Just bring weed...or you're not welcome.

This was the first place we mentioned when we started planning.

Our destination has gone from Nashville, to Chicago, to now Michigan.

New River Gorge near Beckley WV is 260mi away. Mammoth Cave National Park is 190~ away in Kentucky.

If you've never been to Mammoth, it's definitely worth the visit. Take the Historical and Frozen Niagara tours to get the best. The Historical tour takes you through the bulk of the cave and gives you the historical perspective as to how people first viewed, and used, the cave. Very cool. The Frozen Niagara is shorter and a relatively new area of the cave that was opened to tourists. It includes a long descent that's pretty narrow and windy down steep steps. But the payoff, the 'frozen Niagara' formation is well worth it.

Although, if you're claustrophobic, it probably wouldn't be a good vacation. Especially the steps leading down to Frozen Niagara and Fat Man's Misery in the Historical Tour.

Not sure how far it is from Cincinnati, but I really enjoyed my only visit to Traverse City, Michigan. Lots of vineyards, lakes, very good restaurants and old-school pubs. I really was surprised to see such an interesting place in Michigan haha. I know Michael Moore lives there too and has film festivals from time to time.

I was going to suggest Mammoth Cave, as well. Nice weekend trip, nice drive. And in the cave, weather doesn't matter. You also might consider driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. Beautiful scenery, plus many stops along the way.

That's laughable. Columbus is a piece of shit city.

Go to Elk Lake and rent a lake house. It's only an hour and a half or so away and it's pretty nice.

Well, first off, what exactly do you want? City? Country? Hustle and bustle? Slow and steady? A lot of differences between Chicago and a lake-side cabin.

A buddy and I are planning a trip to Nashville from June 28-30, before we head to Lake Cumberland for the 4th of July. It's my first trip there. I am really looking forward to it.

Wherever you decide, I can set you up with several places to eat.

Hocking hills in Ohio. A very nice place to unwind and spend some quality time together. The place we stay at has very nice and cozy log cabins that are very clean and modern, back deck with hot tub overlooking the woods. Only has 3 cabins on about 40 acres and surrounded by a state forest. There are a lot of hiking trials and sightseeing areas if you like the outdoors. Great place to get away from the daily grind of work.

Honestly, we don't really care. We'll be happy just hanging out in a cabin or roaming Chicago.

There's a nudist retreat in Peebles, which is in southern Ohio.

Just the combination of "nudist retreat" and "southern Ohio" promises quite the epic time full of "what has been seen can't be unseen" moments.
