Bob Kramer, the coach for Weirton Madonna announces his retirement after 13 years and over 100 victories on the sidelines and a West Virginia State Championship and numerous appearances in the finals. This may be a prime opportunity for Coach Gregg Bahen, who was forced to retire from Steubenville Catholic Central recently to get back in to coaching. With the 2 schools only separated by about 5 miles and both being small catholic schools in the Ohio Valley, do you think that Coach Bahen could be back on the sidelines next year at Madonna?

Would make for an interesting story when Madonna comes to play Central this year.

I didnt realise coach Bahen was forced out? Is that true?

Its to bad he stepped down "Kramer" what a job he did

Yes, he was asked to resign, that is what I was told. He will always be a great coach and a great guy as far as I am concerned

I was a little surprised the he decided to retire. He has been one hell of a coach and he built that program from the ground up and is very well respected in the valley. I remember when he started out coaching in the old Parochial league in the 70's at Aquinas. They used to play down over the hill behind St. Pius school on lovers lane, where the Rose is currently located. I am not sure if you remember that league, but it was pretty good back in the day. They played Football, Basketball and Baseball with 5th/6th and 7th/8th graders.

I think that would be one of the bigger crowds that central would experience at Harding in a long time. How often do brother in laws get to coach against each other, especially under the circumstances. I bet it would be interesting to see how many CCHS grads would be cheering for Madonna because of their love of coach Bahen. I am not saying anything about coach Daly, but I don't know him and I just think that coach Bahen has a lot of loyal followers that he has coached over the years.

He wasn't forced to retire. He left on his own terms.

As for Coach Kramer, seems like the cupboard is getting empty accross the river, smart move on his part.

I was told he was forced out, must have been wrong information that was told to me.

Greggy got fed up with the constant abuse accusations and I for one don't blame him. 99% of the CCHS family will back him up to the hilt, the man does more for these kids than just coach football.

Old school is the best way .. You should know what your kids are signing up for when they join the team .

I remember that league .. It was a good league I used to go to alot of the games ..they had the Junior Dons and St Agnus,with St Peters and St Anthony Holy Rosary and Aquinas.. dont remember St Stans or Holy name but I know they had teams too
