Why is it that the Lakers have played 14 of their first 18 at home? I'm just curious, because I don't think I've seen that before.

I'm not putting down the Lakers, I'm just wondering if that happens every year?

No, it doesn't happen every year. Keep in mind, there are some booked concerts, and the Clippers and Kings play in that arena as well.

Just means more road games at some point in the season.

Exactly. At any rate, because they're on the West Coast, they typically have an extended Road Trip late Feb/early March just about every year. And most years, they do fine on these trips. No worries.

The Bulls always start the year with a huge roadtrip because the circus comes to town.

Just depends on the arena really.

Spurs always go on about a 2 week trip when the rodeo(?) comes to town also.

There are always some crazy parts of schedules for every team in the league--arenas are used for more than just basketball and making that many teams play 82 games causes it. There is usually always at least one team that has a pretty drastic portion of their schedule but it all evens out in the end obviously--and then there are the yearly road trips that have already been mentioned.

Yeah, the Cavs have some lengthy trips, though no where near as long as the circus or rodeo trips, because of the Lake Erie Monsters, concerts, and events, that are held at the Q now. Dan Gilbert has made that an attractive venue.

Everything evens out in the end. The Pistons played I believe 8 of the first 12 on the road or something like that so it's not uncommon. Teams like the Spurs and Bulls have it much worse.

Suns have 17 of their first 24 on the road before they have any sort of home stand.
