Ok..my sister has a wiener dog..my brother in law came home today..and she was pretty sick..the symptoms are:

Her tongue is hanging out the side of her mouth
Drooling blood
Constipated
She can't eat or drink; more so b/c of the tongue hanging out
Hasn't ate anything in a couple days

Anyone have any idea of what may be the cause of this?

Give it a half of a vicodin it wont hurt it. When my dog broke her leg I gave her half and then another half on Sunday and she made it til Mon morning.

Is it possible the dog swallowed something that has blocked its digestive track?
My sisters dog swallowed her panties.
Dog had alot of these symptoms.
Had surgery, dog is fine.

If the dog has a regular vet you can call him/her and they will come in for an emergency. That would be my course of action. Or find an emergency clinic.

I go for gerb131's advice..........and give me the other half of it! :-)

Then, get to the vet.

Give care and comfort tonight.

I will give my dog a big hug tonight and be thinking about the situation.

They actually found an emergency vet that was about 45 minutes away..they just got there and they took the dog right back.

DrJ is passed out on the couch, but I suspect if she saw this thread while sober she would have suggested taking it directly to the vet.

That sounds like a pretty sick dog. I hope they got her to the vet in time.

Most areas have emergency veternary hospitals. If you have pets, it's a good idea to know where you can get after hours care. Waiting 12 -24 hours is sometimes too late.

Piss off Zwick LOL

As for the dog...turns out..they think it's all b/c she has a big ass cut on the bottom of her tongue. Who knew? LMAO $250.00 for them to find that out!
