Okay so about an hour ago, I suddenly got hit with a bunch of "Warning, malicious software detected" screens. Apparently WM 32 Blaster is a worm that infects Windows, but can't infect Vista and W7. It gave me a bunch of options from Microsoft (obviously fake) to help me get rid of the worm, it's all a scam to get you to buy their anti-virus protection. After some work, I got rid of it.. I think, it was tricky because it disabled all .exe files.. I just ran Webroot Spysweeper and nothing showed up. Am I good to go? Any tips on good virus protection? This is the only problem I've ever had, I'm kinda pissed Spysweeper didn't catch it.

Tips: download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and then switch to Microsoft Security Essentials for your AV protection.

Also. inb4 "get a Mac".

"Get a Mac! They're sweet! They don't get viruses! Steve Jobs is my daddy! We all cream for Macs! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!"

Okay, now if we can be serious for a moment, just get Malwarebytes and iExplore.exe (Google it).

Update the big "3":

Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Java

They all bug you about needing updated when you turn your computer on, and they want updated for that very reason.

Yeah, do make sure those stay updated as they are easily exploited.
