Thought it was offsides but too close to call...what a heart breaker. Also, Bruins may have had over 30 shots but i didn't think they threatened to score nearly as much as the canucks. Not scoring on a 5-3 is ridiculous

That 5-3 was costly for the Bruins no doubt. It was close on the offsides thats for sure. Entertaining game 1 though.

Was a really intense game. Hopefully burrows gets the two game suspension for biting. Wouldn't mind seeing their top line center sit for a couple games. Also, really like that they have chara in front of the net on the PP, only problem is you lose his cannon of a shot from the point.

Seidenberg has a cannon of a shot as well. So losing Chara at the point is ok.

Nice dive Sedin.

If the Bruins are winning by a good margin late in the 3rd, then look for the Canucks to get very dirty.

Last nights game did very well rating wise:
The final ratings have been released for last night, which average in how many folks tuned to various programs in every market, not just the big, metered markets used to measure overnight.
NBC’s coverage of Game 1 in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final drew 4.56 million viewers, up from 4.56 million in the overnights. The game was up 5% from last year’s numbers, and the best numbers for a Game 1 telecast since 1999. Remember that from 2000-2008, Game 1 of the Final aired on cable via either ESPN or VERSUS, whereas Game 1 in 1999 aired on broadcast’s FOX.
NHL Markets Local Ratings For Game 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final
1. Boston – 25.5/39
2. Buffalo – 7.2/11
3. Pittsburgh – 4.3/7
4. Minneapolis/St. Paul – 4.2/8
5. Detroit – 4.2/7
6. Columbus – 3.6/6
Non-NHL Markets Local Ratings For Game 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final
1. Providence – 16.7/24
2. Hartford – 5.5/8
3. Ft. Myers – 3.9/7
4. Richmond - 3.9/6
t5. Sacramento - 3.4/6
t5. Las Vegas - 3.4/6

I'm glad he's not suspended. Shouldn't be suspended IMO. Bruins should man up. Can't believe he allowed himself to be bit by a canadian.

+1, just plays into the stereotype that the city of Boston needs to grow a pair.

I have a sneaking feeling that the canucks got into Thomas's head. I think Vancouver will build off it last second's heroics and skate away to a comfortable win. Bruins should have tried to make a trade for Derek Broussard before the deadline IMO.

The stereotype that you made up on the spot while typing that? What about the stereotype that cleveland teams suck? actually that's more a fact than stereotype since stereotypes are more generalizations and well, cleveland sucking is a fact.

Two goals (including the OT game winner) and an assist from a player that probably shouldn't have been playing. Yikes.

The past 2 games, Chara has looked pretty bad. Seidenberg and Boychuck have been their best dmen.
