Agree, defense and failure of recruiting there is why he got fired, not getting TP certainly set them back because they had to go with Threet that year but he was not the reason he got fired.

Cowherd would be right only if one assumes that having Pryor would have gotten Dick Rod substantially more wins.

IOW, Cowherd is wrong as usual.

Are temp tags registered? Were they Pennsylvania temp tags or does mom travel to Columbus to get a 350X?

The car is his. The O-Zone photographer has a photo of the car; WBNS TV stalked Pryor and verified the tags are registered to his mom; the O-Zone photog also has a photo of Pryor getting into the car, which he is not publishing but keeping only to verify his statement that it is Pryor's car.

Here's my problem with this particular vehicle: it's about a $16,000 vehicle and his mom is a nurse, from all I've been made to understand. How is it unreasonable that a nurse could buy her soon-to-be senior son this car, with the agreement being he'd take over the payments after he's out of college?

I come from a family that probably had about as much money as Pryor and my family could swing that setup.

I'm not defending him, by the way. Just raising a question.

I don't think him having this car is the issue. It's the amount of relatively expensive cars he's been going through. And he didn't seem to learn anything from all of this.

Only an idiot would be driving anything with temp tags given the current situation, whether everything is kosher or not.

I just have this weird feeling that if or when Pryor gets taken down, he will take down Thee University of Ohio State with him.

He should have just put the hammer down on Pryor the first time he fucked up, but he just coddled him the whole time, allowing his stupidity to continue and it has snowballed to the point that he isn't just stupid, but is being arrogant about his stupidity. What he doesn't realized is that daddy isn't there to protect him anymore. Honestly, if Tressel had just put his foot down with Pryor the second he stepped on campus, he could've been the best QB to ever play at OSU. Now he may be the most tarnished
I honestly think Pryor being handed the starting job in 2008 over Boeckman (who led th '07 team to a NC game) went a long way at giving TP a bigger sense of entitlement.

And never buying? Thought I saw a blurb today that said the salesman said Pryor looked at/test drove a lot of cars but never bought one. Could be true and no big deal (though you'd think a dealership would catch on pretty soon). Or, it could be that "test drive" is the cover for "drive whatever you want for free and when you are done with one come back and get a different one". It'll be interesting to know how long each "test drive" lasted. I was under the impression that the NCAA already looked into a freebie weekend where he drove a car home and that was cleared.

Pryor just needs to relax right now and get his head straight. He has got to prepare for finals next week.

Imagine if he would have never chose OSU. Would all of this be coming down like this?

Is it still and improper benefit if a car dealership lets an athlete drive a car on an extended test drive (a weekend) not because of who they are, but because the dealership can easily find them if anything goes wrong?

A fully loaded one with 45k is $22k at a dealership. KBB keeps locking up, but that would be about right for a basic 350z with some rims and more miles

Do you really believe what you are typing? What was TP's reason for selling his stuff?

Someone said in a previous thread Pryors mom was worthless and dad was nowhere to be found. He had to live with his high school coaches.

Tattoos, cash? I have no idea. But this particular car could easily have a reasonable and legit explanation. It's why I raised the question. I also said I'm not defending him...far from it.

I want the truth -- not some witch hunt just because you or others don't like OSU, Pryor or whatever.

So let me get this straight. Pryor had to promise the team that he would be back next year?

Didn't he say he did it to support his mom. Talked about how poor she is. Then he said he would "suffer" (financially) through another year of college football after making his pledge to Tress.

But you think his mom would buy him a sports car at $20k +?

Good point. I agree that all of the original excuses are complete bullshit.
