It looks like Harold Camping has recalculated the date to be Oct 21, 2011. Really?! This dude has claimed another mathematical error and is "certain" that Oct 21 is the true date. It's sad because even though he's cried wolf, people are still going to follow him.

I also saw where this buttplug had predicted the world to end in 1994 but claimed a "mathematical error" on that one too. Needs curb stomped.

Honestly, this part is more funny than sad. Pathetic people who are so desperate to believe we're in the "end of times", so they support a senile old fuck who picks one rapture date after another...that's Darwin Award material right there, especially if they're among the group who allegedly emptied their bank accounts to promote this shit.

Keep on keepin' on, Camping! Your delusions provide me with many lulz!

My girlfriend's daughter came home from school and she said that this kook was all they were talking about. Sounded like he had some of these kids in a semi-panic.

This church had more than 100 million in assets in 2009. I would be curious to know how much he has today, since the world shouldn't be here now.
As Saturday drew nearer, followers reported that donations grew, allowing Family Radio to spend millions on more than 5,000 billboards and 20 RVs plastered with the doomsday message. In 2009, the nonprofit reported in IRS filings that it received $18.3 million in donations, and had assets of more than $104 million, including $34 million in stocks or other publicly traded securities.

So he didn't exactly "miscalculate". This was just a spiritual judgment day, it is the apocalypse part that won't happen until October. But you've already been judged based on whether or not you believed this past weekend. So you're all done, deal with it.

The great thing to me is his stance on giving all your shit away. I've never understood that part either. If the world is ending, what good are you doing by giving your shit to someone else? They aren't going to need it any more than you are going to need it if the world really ends.
Family Radio would never tell anyone what they should do with their belongings, and those who had fewer would cope, Camping said.

"We're not in the business of financial advice," he said. "We're in the business of telling people there's someone who you can maybe talk to, maybe pray to, and that's God."

But he also said that he wouldn't give away all his possessions ahead of Oct 21.

"I still have to live in a house, I still have to drive a car," he said. "What would be the value of that? If it is Judgment Day why would I give it away?"

He actually had this as part of his earlier prediction. He said the rapture would be May 21st which would start the beginning of the end. October 21st would be when the world ended for all of the unsaved.

You give your shit away because you are being saved....the rest of us have to wait till the end of the world...but this guy believes that 3% of us were good enough to be saved on judgement day the rest of us have to stay and endure the rapture for 6 months
