Honestly I thought it would be more than the 100k Kobe had to pay since it was directed at a fan, the NBA is very image conscious.

Hes gotta be smarter than that. Thats hardly the worst thing that players say during a game. I've sat courtside at a few Cavs games, the word "fag" is G rated compared to some of the things that are said.

The NBA's reasoning for why Kobe's fine was twice as much is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in awhile.
They are saying because Kobe directed his comment at an official, it is worse than directing it at a fan.
