Donald Trump now moderating Debates this month. This is quite pathetic honestly. The fact that Donald Trump has any pull at all with any politics is a travesty. Im glad Huntsman turned it down, hopefully others follow. It can be tricky because you don't want to miss out on getting on tv but this is pretty sad.

The article as a whole is pretty balanced, but there is one quote that is completely over-the-top:
"Among longtime observers of Iowa politics, there remains considerable concern, privately expressed, that Paul might actually win the caucuses -- a result that could make the state irrelevant in future cycles."
If Paul wins Iowa, apparently it doesn't mean that people are behind his message, but rather that the entire state is irrelevant.

Herman Cain is out of the race. Hopefully after iowa and new hampshire , santorum, bachman and huntsman will all go too.

I wonder how many of Cain's votes will go to Paul. Although I have to admit, Paul might be a tough sell in the general election. Between his ideas being painted as crushing the poor (which they will), the lack of "presidential look" does influence a lot of ignorant voters.

Cain officially dropped out(not that he ever had a chance of winning anyway.) Newt's 15 minutes as the "frontrunner" will soon end, and then Republicans can start coming closer and closer to admitting the inevitable: Mitt Romney will be their nominee.

That's what I was getting at. If we're going to have a two party system we need to be able to choose from at least somewhat competent choices. Captain "I Campaign on a platform that a lot of people like and make a bunch of promises about transparency, ending ridiculous wars, and protecting freedoms but really I'm GWB in a black guy suit" and whatever schmuck the GOP is probably going to nominate don't count as "competent".

They don't even count as two parties, since they both do pretty much the same damn thing (though they'll tell you they're drastically different).

Ever since the televised Nixon-Kennedy debate, sex appeal has become far more important to the American voter: Style over Substance. Lincoln would never have been elected if Hollyweird and television had been invented in the mid-1800's.

After the MSM tears into Paul, rest assured that either Newt or Romney will get the Repub nomination and then the MSM will once again go to bat for their Appointed One.

It's no longer about what's best for the country. It's about what sells.

Sex sells...not just for the POTUS position. I blame this phenomenon on women. We men can see through the BS.
