I'm no Palin fan and, frankly, I'd like to see her sit on the sidelines for any future elections -- but the way the media and some people put her down is so elitist, it makes want to puke.

If she ends up getting the nomination against Obama -- yeah, I probably would hold my nose and pull the trigger.

That should tell you just how bad I think Obama has been so far, and how much another 4 years of him makes me (to quote Gibby) "shutter with borrow". :)

The highlight reel of human stupidity is that the Obama campaign reeled in enough followers of the "hope & change" bullshit that he and his hypocrite elitist wife actually occupy the White House.

We'll disagree here.

I bring up the Palin thing because I want there to be a real Republican candidate and real discourse from their side about how and why the Democrats/Obama aren't doing a good job. Palin being relevant in that party at all drives me and a lot of other people away.

Michael Moore wasn't a VP nominee for his given party either...

Palin's an idiot, and no one in their right mind would possibly think she should be anywhere near the Presidency. Let's just leave it at that.

I LOL when I hear people slam Palin's "stupidity" knowing full well they voted for the most inept president we've seen since Carter, and that ticket included a VP who has made Dan Quayle look like a member of Mensa.

Here's the thing. You don't have to be an idiot to vote for a bad candidate. Just identify more strongly with some of their issues than the other guy. I voted for McCain which I'm sure is surprising for how much I defend Obama on here. I just feel like people don't give him an objective analysis and rather listen to the loud angry voices. Because I don't think he's done a particularly great job. I just don't buy into the antichrist rhetoric either.

And McCain could have won, but for a terrible error in judgement when he selected his running mate. I really believe that this error, along with the economic crisis (which exposed his glaring weakness on economics) cost him the election.

Her selection helped him go from 5-6 points down to 2-3 points up prior to the financial meltdown that September/October, which was the real nail in his coffin. IIRC, most exit polling showed she had minimal if not nil effect on the final numbers.

It's a popular talking point to say she cost him the White House, but the reality is she kept him from getting his ass kicked twice as badly.
