as long as special interests and jails continue to be big business, I don't care who is in office it isn't going to change.

Which one of the Republicans would do anything about that? It's not Newt, Mittens, or Frothy.
Were all those people unfairly jailed? Did they not break laws which had jail time sentences associated with them?

Shouldn't we be outraged at the amount of crime as opposed to the amount of jail time that is handed out in this country?

As of today, it's a toss-up.

Perhaps we should be concerned that we spend an enormous amount for highly questionable results. It's reasonably clear that "more jail less crime" is not a realistic mantra.

We jail more people than fucking Russia dude.

We have more shitty laws that are enforced, not more shitty people committing crimes. Wake up.

We are a land of laws. If we don't enforce the laws we have greater issues than weak laws populating the jails and prisons.

Follow the laws or get them changed but complaining about being punished for the laws in place is worthless.

The problem are the laws and our system.

The attitude you're taking is that there is no problem.

Agree in part with the former, less so with the latter. In what way is the problem "the system"?

Ron spent $0 and 0 time in Florida. The results aren't surprising at all, the two with the most corporate money were at the top.

Iowa: Rick Santorum
New Hampshire: Mitt Romney
South Carolina: Newt Gingrich
Florida: Mitt Romney

February primaries/caucuses...

Nevada: Romney
Maine: Romney
Colorado: ??
Minnesota: ??
Arizona: ??
Michigan: Romney

Honestly I see Romney winning Nevada (Mormons), Maine (close to MA), and Michigan (father) running away.

Any predictions? I do have the states right, right?

We have a penal system that has a clear incentive to want to have more people incarcerated.

And I watched some of Newt's speech and I wanted to puke on the TV.

And if I ever get ticketed for driving in the left lane without passing you can be sure as hell I will be one of them before I give a single fucking dollar to the state.

Newt focused squarely on Obama. I didn't find that nauseating at all.

Minnesota's electoral votes last went to a Republican in 1972, when the Democrat won 1 state.

Of the three...Nevada is by far the most likely for Romney, followed by Michigan. There are 20 other states that I would put in the 'maybe Romney' category before Minnesota. They're no DC but they're definitely not a Utah.

What the hell will Obama do for 4 years if he doesn't have to spend them all campaigning for re-election? MORE golf, lavish vacations and hangin' with celebs?

I suppose he could, but they aren't running, are they? Actually a Clinton endorsement would be fairly ironic, as Newt led the impeachment fight against Slick Willie while he was playing hide the weiner with that blondie who appears on the stage with him all the time. I've always wondered what must have gone through her mind (besides air) when she was willing to be the kept woman in Newt's open marriage proposal. I wonder if Newt will ever let her speak out on the campaign trail.

I don't think so. Why should they? The primaries are not over, no need to bow out until a canidate is officially decided.
