I'm about 2/3 of the way through this book and have a hard time putting it down. Gives great insight into the SEALs and the mindset of a sniper. Anyone else read it? I would highly recommend it. (I know... Cool story bro)

Here is the link to it on Amazon. Howard E. Wasdin is the SEAL who wrote it with a co-author. The point I'm at right now is detailing his time as a sniper in Mogadishu.

Heard about this book right after the Bin Laden operation. It was #20,000+ on the Best Seller list, and went to like #5 after the operation.

It wasn't released until May 10, 2011 unless they were counting pre-orders.

I work with a guy that was one of the original members of the team. He is over 70, and still a badass man.

It was based on pre-orders, and was rushed into publication to be released 2 weeks prior to the planned release date of May 24th.

He is mentioned a few times in the book and apparently not very well liked by many other SEALs because of his holier than thou attitude and the way he treats others.

Agreed. Many Team guys think Marcinko is POS.
His book and coming out and publicizing SEAL Team Six is one of the reasons many believe they officially changed the name from SEAL Team Six to DEVGRU. I wonder what Team guys think of this book as I know they dont really take kindly to guys who try to make $$$ of their experiences. They are known as the Silent Warriors.

I know a number werent extremly happy when Luttrell wrote Lone Survivor and such. They rather prefer to do their job and just have the public wonder who the hell they are and what the hell do they do!

I havent. I have read a few SEAL books like The Lone Survivor (amazing book), some of Dick Couch (former TEam guy) Warrior Elite (it follows a BUD/s class to become SEALs), Down Range (good, hodge podge of diff missions and such), Sheriff of Ramadi, and also SEAL of Honor which is a book about Michael Murphy (Awared Medal of Honor). SEAL of Honor is not too bad, the full story of what took place during Operation Red Wings is detailed in the book Lone Survivor.

Have read a few others that I cannot recall.

Disccovery had a series that covered BUD/s class 234, the 6.5 month Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training that sailors go through. Seen it dozens of times...pretty good little series. YOu can get it dirt cheap now.
