My lady Mariska Hargitay has gotten some love on OC.

She signed a new deal to be less involved on SVU...>>boooooo....

but they bringing in Jennifer Love Hewitt as the lead.

Have had a crush on JLove since Party of Five!

Uh this is a win only because JLH is hot also but I'm not sure I like it. Will just have to wait and see.

I guess Hargitay is gonna get promoted and have less screen time and will work for a measily same contract as before....385k per episode.

Eliot is looking for a raise and has not signed yet.

JLH was on SVU as a rape victim I guess earlier this season. I only watch on USA so dont see the real new ones. Wouldnt be the first time someone was on the show as a diff character only to show up later as a new character. One of the Asst DA's was someone on trial for a crime awhile back.

Meh, I'd rather have Mariska and Elliot. They have MADE this show, and it happens to be my fav show on TV.

Do not like. Agree with Tusky, Mariska and Elliot have made the show. I hate when shows (and starts themselves) start messing with the casts, especially ones as great as SVU. Thats what killed CSI for me.

Yeah, I don't like this at all.

Benson and Stabler have made SVU what it is, along with Finn and the rest of the cast. I don't mind the swapping of ADAs, but don't F with the 2 main characters.

So this can't be a money issue if the are getting Love Hewitt because she has to be more expensive than Hargitay. Is it a looks issue? Because I still find her attractive.

Wildcats, how come you don't like Love Hewitt?

I agree they made the show. Its the only one in the LO franchise that has kept the same main detective duo.

Mariska wanted a lesser workload and that is why this is happening.

Ugh I hate this... SVU is amazing with Benson and Stabler I just can't imagine it without her. I also have never been a fan of JLH. The show has been around forever so I can understand her wanting a lesser role.

I'm way behind on this season so I didn't even know JLH was in an episode. I don't mind her but I LOVE Elliot (want to bang) and Olivia so it will be sad to see their partnership come to an end. I will still watch but I hope it doesn't end up ruining the show.

And Mariska Hargitay just adopted a daughter and has said she and her husband want more children so this move does make sense for her.

Havent seen Hewitt on anything for a long time. There was the movie Cant Hardly Wait...but what else she been doing?

You and Rach can fight for Elliott(about every time we watch that show, which is a lot, she says something about him, haha) and wildcats can have Olivia and I will gladly "settle" for Hewitt. :D

You may not know since you said you only watch old episodes but maybe someone else can(too lazy too look it up), but wasnt this episode the same episode where they crossed the L&O LA guys? It was right before the season premiere of the LA franchise. I think it would have more sense to cross JLH to the LA show and then transfer her over to the SVU unit. Make a slow build up of the character and then have her replace Olivia. Who knows though, it could be relevant if this was not the same episode and if MH taking on a smaller role was not seen a year ago.

I have occassionaly seen some crossover eps with the older LO franchise, but as I said I dont watch the new ones I just catch the reruns
