Not sure if this getting much press in the U.S. other than the yahoo line....but it is HUGH overseas. Regardless of whether the charges are truthful, what is a "socialist" leader of a global bank funded by taxpayers doing in a $3,000/night suite by himself?

Nobody does scandal quite like the Euros.
They make most of our stuff look pedestrian by comparison.
Oh and Manhattan...is that HUGH as in Grant or HUGH as in Hefner?

I think this guy is in some really deep doo-doo. Without bail, I think the only way he gets out of the country is if the jury says "not guilty".

The funny thing is he has his own country and Roman Polanski to thank for that. Nice job, France!

With all his money and power what are the odds this guy skips bail and ends up in France. 60% of the French think he is getting framed. Its going to cost the people of NYC a lot of money to bring him to trial.

Interesting, apparently (i) there was a sexual event and (ii) the prosecution is tucking its tails. This sounds like a mess on both sides. The prosecutors should have their resumes ready.

I actually grew nauseous listening to the girl's lawyer. He took portraying her as a victim to a whole new level (and not saying she isn't, but a lawyer can and will say about anything to the press that helps his client). I'm surprised he didn't have Jesse Jackson come in and play the race card.
