Nice commercial. There in lies alot of our problems. The ppl are too stupid to research a politicians background, so many ppl vote on the catchy commercial. I've never understood why I should give a shit who a movie star is voting for in an election? Why are they any smarter about issues than I am?

You shouldn't. But it's the same reason people care about what shoes or food or car or whatever a celebrity uses. People find that person attractive/smart/a good athlete/good person/etc and want to emulate what they view as a successful lifestyle.

^^The other thing about commercials like these are they are memorable. Let's be honest, in the local elections most voters don't know either candidate. When commercials like these hit the airways, there will be a lot of people who will vote for the candidate because they remember the commercial.
