I guess this means they're safe to stay in Minnesota and not move to LA any time soon. It was a possibility if they ended up getting stuck with the Metrodome.

Good news for the NFL....as a Browns fan I don't want to see any teams relocate, much less a team with a history like the Vikings.

I'm pretty amazed they were able to get $650 million from the state and county chipped in.

Jacksonville or New Orleans to LA. Buffalo to Toronto.

I can see Jacksonville going to LA, but not New Orleans. I hope Buffalo doesn't go to Toronto, that would be a crime. I have no data to back up my statement, but I really don't think Canada would embrace an NFL team.

Also, I don't think an NFL team should just be put into a CFL city. Find a spot in the USA for the Bills if they move them from Buffalo.

Now Jacksonville would certainly be another story. There are already two football teams in Florida, which happen to be on opposite sides of the state, so the need for 3 teams just really isn't there.

Too bad the proposed stadium is a dome...it makes so much sense to have an open stadium in Minneapolis -- fingers pointing at the Twins.

Honestly for football, it does make sense. Nothing better than football in the elements if you ask me. Granted, they almost certainly are going with a dome so they can try to attract the Super Bowl/Final Four.

I am a "naturalist" too when it comes to sports.

I like the elements. I like the weather. But, I would NEVER want to play in Minneapolis in December outdoors. Being a Packer fan, Lambeau is really a lot of the same -- so I excuse outdoor stadiums a lot, I just know that many Minnesota-ians do not really like the lack of a dome in a baseball stadium and probably want a dome for football also.

I like football outdoors. However, I can understand why they would want a dome so that it can be used more than 10 times a year. In addition to other sporting events, it could be used for conferences, concerts, etc. A price tag of a billion dollars is hard to justify for a facility that would only be used a handful of times a year.

Yeah..I prefer outside......on the grass....but it only makes sense, especially up there to have a domed, or retractable, stadium.
Hopefully the kid from our town, Ross Homan, who got drafted by the Vikes will make the team and get to playa there some day.

I hope someone steps up and keeps the Bills in Buffalo when Wilson passes. They belong in Buffalo.

Just read that Zygi Wilf hopes that the new stadium will bring in a MLS team too...I just don't know about that one.

This. Makes economical sense with such an expensive stadium to retain the ability to use it for things other than football.

However, a team like the Vikings could really have a home field advantage with an open stadium late in the season and they are a team built to use that advantage, running the ball and playing tough defense. Or they could just get a quarterback and become a pass happy dome team.
