On Monday, June 27th, Groveport Madison will begin a four day camp.

We will run from 9am to 2pm every day. From 11 to noon will be lunch. Although a place WILL be provided, lunch will not. So bring your own.

Oh by the way...

We have (currently) 4 clinicians lined up for the event. Joe Eaton, Rex Holman, Frank Romano and James Yonushonis. PARTY!!!

$75

I have fliers available in word format or Publisher format. Just email if you want one. [email protected] - please put Summer Wrestling Camp in the subject line.

I will be typing credentials for the clinicians later. Be ready.

Awesome. Also, when I email you the fliers (I saw you emailed but haven't opened it yet) I'll email you the waiver forms for next Wednesday's trip.

I have to be honest... I'm pretty pleased with the line-up of clinicians.

I've never seen Joe Eaton in action. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever talked to him. Moreover, I don't think I've ever heard him talk!!! He was class of '91, I was '96. The good news is I don't think he ever stuffed me in a locker either! :D Where was I...oh yes, Joe Eaton! He was an NCAA qualifier for Lockhaven back in the mid 90's. He was a 189 pounder in high school, but wrestled heavyweight in college. I wonder what he weighed while doing that? Anywho, he'll be bringing some excellent PA flavor to the camp.

Speaking of PA, James Yonushonis is in. (I'm pretty sure!!!) He was 2x placer in PA, and an All-American for PSU back in '06. He's now an Ohio-RTC athlete, and just placed 8th at the US Open. (Yes, the same US Open that the Ohio-RTC won as a team!) So there is more PA flair.

Enough with the PA love...

Rex Holman has agreed to do two sessions. Rex is AMAZING. I had the chance to see Rex at the Ready camp... BLEW MY MIND! He started off kind of slow, so much so that my brother and I got worried. But 45 minutes later we were practically begging him to keep going. So this could be a good one!

Last but certainly not least is head coach of NAIA National Champions (back-to-back) Frank Romano. What I love about all of these guys is their fundamental approach, even at the highest levels. But Frank is in the middle of it every day. So his perspective could be a little more in tune with some of the current trouble spots for those wanting to transition from high school to college. All the while reaching the younger (less experienced, if you will) wrestlers.

I hope it lives up to my own imagine-ings.

And thanks for all the emails, even already. Great stuff.

Cruiser,

Can the kids pay when they get there with forms or do you want checks mailed to you by a certain date....

Emails are starting to pick up now. I have received a few throughout the last few days.

I will do my best to get out and put out fliers. Otherwise, the email method will work.

Tell your friends, tell'em all!

Peace.

I believe it's the same place as Groveport's open mats...maybe down on the gym floor rather than upstairs.

Bitter is right about the location. Might still do it upstairs though. But, do know, I would LOVE it if you open mat guys showed up for a session or two. Joe Eaton is now a PA guy so his top techniques will be battle tested and very usable!

Westie... He's a big guy. You showing up could benefit your skill set. Just sayin.
