Reds could be as high as 4.5 games up or as low as 6.5 games back come Sunday night at the conclusion of this series. Anyone else have as good a feeling as I do about it?

You would have to specify how good a feeling you have about it before anyone can actually answer your question.
FAIL.

Hmmm...hopefully a good feeling, but not a 4.5 game lead good feeling, because that would mean the Pirates would have to hit a bit of a rough spot against two currently inferior teams (Dodgers, Brewers). And I refuse to allow that to happen.

When I say 4.5 game lead, that is just in reference to the Cardinals. The Pirates could be within that 4.5 games.

I'd be shocked if the Reds don't clinch the division Sunday. What's the magic number currently?

If the starting pitching holds out, they've been great lately, this team is poised to take control of the division. They only scored 9 runs in the Cubs series, and should've won all three games. People forget that we haven't seen the team we expected to have on the field play together yet.

It is apparent that Homer Bailey brought the entire starting pitching staff magic underpants on his trip back from the DL. That's the only explanation for their turnaround, starting with his first start.

I think the reds should get swept by the cards. It seemed to work last year.

Might be possible that TLR might miss the series this weekend. He has shingles.

wrote:Mr. Red’s Smokehouse to debut May 13
The grand opening of Great American Ball Park’s newest themed dining destination Mr. Red’s Smokehouse is scheduled for Friday, May 13 when the Reds play the St. Louis Cardinals.
Mr. Red’s Smokehouse will serve savory smoked meats such as beef ribs, turkey legs, chicken wings and pulled pork sandwiches along with corn on the cob, macaroni & cheese and creamy coleslaw.
Inspired by barbecue shacks throughout the country, Mr. Red’s Smokehouse has been constructed from repurposed and locally-sourced materials such as rough-cut oak barn siding, reused industrial lumber logs and salvaged steel support columns.
Just like back in the day when smokehouses were made from whatever materials were available, Mr. Red’s Smokehouse keeps that authentic feel with a bar made of polished concrete set on strapped wood barrels and beer kegs on ice in a bath tub salvaged from a renovated Over-The-Rhine building.
Located at the end of the first base concourse overlooking the Ohio River, fans can enjoy the smoked meats at high-top wooden tables or belly-up to the bar and enjoy a cold beer.
Menu
Representatives from the Reds and Delaware North-Sportservice researched the best smoking techniques and adapted the best recipes from the region to develop the menu.
The menu offerings at Mr. Red’s Smokehouse include:
- Smoked Beef Ribs
- Smoked Turkey Legs
- Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich
- Smoked Chicken Wings
- Corn on the Cob
- Macaroni & Cheese
- Creamy Coleslaw
- Domestic and craft beers
Rotating Menu Items such as “Smoked Cardinal”
New menu items will be featured each homestand tied to a visiting team and its regional cuisine beginning this Friday with the addition of Smoked Quail to the menu, being playfully named “Smoked Cardinal”.

That sounds good but I assume the lines would be really really long for a few weeks. Hopefully by the 3rd weekend in July it will have slowed down, although I still enjoy the Machine Room.

The Machine Room is good but I haven't been there since 2009, I think.

Very good feeling. The Reds are getting healthy. Rolen and Francisco due back, Bailey and Cueto both looked spectacular, the Reds will have Arroyo, Cueto and Wood going against the Cards. The Reds might not have ace starters, but when completely healthy, their 5 starters are all consistent and they have the pitching advantage in probably 60-70% of games started. Their bullpen, although has struggled at times, has some of the best stuff around.
Scoring runs isn't the problem, especially considering that Votto hasn't "gone crazy" yet and Rolen has missed half the season.

It means the Reds will master the Cardinals and win more games than possible.
