The media coverage for northwest ohio high school wrestling is nothing short of frustrating. I'm sure everyone here has the same thoughts but I just don't get the love given to basketball considering how rare it is to have stand out players in this area. Don't get me wrong, I feel the communitys want to read about all successful standout athletes, but there are by far more in the sport of wrestling than any other yet we get no love! I can't find results for 1 single torney in nw Ohio. It's sad.

Those are far from "complete" but at least it's something! Still no results from Oak Harbor invite. Oak Harbor rated by most as second best team in D2 yet the media doesn't care. We can talk about an irrelavant basketball program though. This is the source of my frustration. Thanks for the info.

Really, I am beginning to blame the fans for this! If wrestling fans (parents, friends, families) would actually cheer on their teams at tournaments, perhaps the sport would be perceived to be more exciting and therefore of more interest to the general public. Yesterday, I sat in a depressingly quiet gymnasium where only one team had cheering fans and everyone else was just chatting! If we think its not worth cheering, why would anyone want to read about it in the paper? Sorry, frustrated.

I'd like to see results and accomplishments regardless of who was/wasn't cheering.

My experience has been that if the results etc. are reported to the local newpaper, they will publish them. Now don't expect the paper to send a reporter to the event very often. That's just my experience.
