I am a huge CF Northwest supporter, but I am an alumnus of Barberton. My family still lives there. My dad is a member of the Barberton Sports Hall of Fame and was very involved with the football program. The program has really struggled the past decade or so. When I was close to the program as a kid in the 60's and a student in the mid 70's, Barberton was a perrenial powerhouse, that competed with the likes of Canton McKinley, Massillon, StV, Warren Western Reserve, Moeller, and many other powerhouses. Can Coach Sharkey bring back the "Magic" that his dad, Rudy, was involved with? I think a restructuring of the youth football program to gear it more towards the way it was in the 60's and 70's

Maybe. Barberton will have open enrollment (again) next year. This might help. Barberton needs to join a league. IMHO, they messed up when they turned down the Akron City Series. The Magics could compete in that league.

They screwed up when the boosters chased off Jerry Buti long ago.
