Read today that Herbie received a Sports Emmy recently. So there are some that respect him.

I don't respect your grammar.

That article pretty much sums up the whole situation accurately.

As for the Emmy...the people who vote on that only see a limited section of the entrant's work on which to judge them. Fortunately for Herbie, they don't hold it against the competitor for being a diva.

That was a great read.

Loved this part:
Speaking of USC, you may remember that Herbstreit was very outspoken to the point of almost being harsh about how Pete Carroll failed to police his players and should have avoided recruiting players like Reggie Bush, whose actions led to that expensive and embarrassing scandal, a vacated BCS title and a forfeited Heisman trophy. Just kidding. Herbstreit never said anything that stupid. No, he saved that tortured logic for Ohio State. Apparently it's not as easy for him to be so honest about other programs.

His AP rankings after the Sugar Bowl and petulant verbal sparring with Pryor aside, Buckeye fans probably wouldn't have any issue with Herbstreit if he had ever also said, I don't know, that he would never send his son to play in a struggling Tommy Tuberville offense. Or if he said Urban Meyer shouldn't recruit players like [insert any two of 25 arrested here]. Those are the kind of damning statements he has reserved only for his beloved alma mater. Sure he's critical of other teams; he once said that Colorado was a lousy program just to get under Colorado alumnus Chris Fowler's skin on the Gameday set. He really put himself out there that time.

Pretty much nails the sentiment from most Buckeye fans.

The "Bucks" guy from the comment section comes off as somewhat insane. Like he's pissed off that Herbstreit moved out of the state, so he can't blow him any more, so he's taking a lot of pent-up aggression out with e-fights.

It's exactly the same tortured "logic" that Hooley and his wife used on the O-Zone forums when a lot of this stuff was coming down (Herbie moving, Hooley getting fired). They were hostile and acted like total idiots, and their defense of Herbie was to the point of being creepy. I wonder if Bucks is Hooley, also.

I think Gameday has peaked. It was hot stuff for a while, but it seems to have gotten too big for its own good. Remember when Monday Night Football used to be a big social event? Now it's just another game on the schedule.

The part I found interesting was in his first post where he said something along the lines of how he had looked at that site as the last bastion of intelligent thought after "contributing" to JJHuddle and other sites.
Past that. I've read a few posts now from you Ramzy. There is a reason I no longer contribute to sites such as JJHuddle, Bucknuts, etc. I view 11w as a last hideaway. I'm not ok with these inflammatory & reactionary posts.
Which makes me wonder what he meant by "contributing". Was he one of the Huddle's crack team of article "writers" or just an egotistical dumbass who looks at posting comments on blogs and message boards as being a contributing writer.
