Hanging out with friend from out of town this weekend I realized I'm one of only a small few in my circle of friends that does not wear corrective lenses.

Have had glasses since I was a kid. Got Lasik in 2001 and recently went back to glasses (good while it lasted). Doc told me once you hit 40 the Lasik kind of starts to wear off.

Yep, wear contacts. Rocked the Rec Specs for sports until junior high.

I wear glasses even though I can pass my drivers test and stuff without them. Prolly go to contacts this year at tsome point.

Glasses began in 4th grade, contacts in 6th grade.

I'm 25 now, I tend to wear contacts daily from 7am - 6pm or so, then glasses at night. I wear glasses a lot on the weekends, and I wear them at work maybe 3-4 days a month to give my eyes a rest.

It would be awesome to not need them...I spend $200 on glasses every 2 years or so, and I spend like $100/yr on contacts.

...been wearing glasses since I was 10 and have been wearing contacts for 20+ years. I take my contacts out every night even though I have extended wear & usually give my eyes at least (1) day a week rest by wearing my glasses.

Yep, ever since I was a kid. Pretty strong prescription, too. Contacts are -9.5 -11.0. I'd love to get the corrective eye surgery one day so I don't have to fuss with 'em.

Nope. I have five brothers and a sister and only one needs glasses. He actually ended up getting Lasik a few years ago.

Anyone have any knowledge about how bad your eyes can be before you aren't a candidate for corrective surgery?

Yeah, need them to see anything. -2.5 with astigmatism in both eyes.
