We all know he's a great ballplayer, but he seems to be an even better person. Getting ready to run a contest on Twitter to give away tickets to the game, hotel, and dinner w/ him on May 6-8 in Chicago. Also about a month ago, he tweeted for everyone to go to the movie theater for a certain movie(can't remember the name of it), and he paid for everyone to watch it with him. It's nice to hear these kind of stories in sports these days!

Indeed. He'll give you a couple infuriating moments a year where he blatantly doesn't hustle, but other than that, I don't know if I've heard much of anything that isn't positive about him.

Seems to just really enjoy the player-fan experience. He also hosted 3 ppl at spring training that he flew down there.
He's been my fav player since he became a red and really enjoy watching him play and reading his tweets.

Seems like a pretty decent guy. Great ball player that is for sure.

Was at a small event this winter and he made a few comments full of inuendo to a waitress, (like if SHE would be in the drink for him, or at least use her finger to stir the drink and was a little flirtatious...that was kinda funny.

When leaving someone yelled 'see ya here next year' and he said as he walked out...'man I hope I dont have to come here next year'.

He was definantly cordial with the 50-75 people there, got a few autographs and pics with him. Ya could tell he was a little bored but hey........i imagine I woulda been too!

Phillips is definitely my favorite player on the Reds. He seems like he is the Reds' version of Ochocinco (minus the antics) as in he's a good player and really likes to give back and interact with the fans.

QFT

But now Modell will have to come on here and make a thread about how he's a bum and a loser.

Sounds like the stuff that Ochocinco does, but he gets called a douchebag

Either way, pretty cool thing for a pro athlete to do for his fans
