Saturday afternon was in columbus and saw a wedding ready to commence. It was outside and there was no tents or cover or anything like that.
...and within a few minutes it rained....and rained....and rained for hours.
Dont know if they had a contingency plan but come one........really?
Not a great plan if ya ask me.

outdoor weddings in the Midwest are always a crapshoot, and you better have a plan B...not a fan at all

Yea, that is just asking for disaster.
On the flip side...I was in a wedding last August, that was outside without a tent. It was so frickin' hot.

My wife insisted on an outdoor wedding and I told her that was a terrible idea in Ohio. We did have a backup tent and there was a huge thunderstorm that day.

We wanted an outdoor wedding so we picked a date in June since it's usually a pretty comfortable month here in Ohio. It was 97.

Perhaps we saw the same wedding. Everyone was just standing there with umbrellas.thavoice;749321 wrote:Saturday afternon was in columbus and saw a wedding ready to commence. It was outside and there was no tents or cover or anything like that.

Of course we saw the same wedding....you and I were together saturday....
Kidding of course.
Was it somewhat near the Arena District? Wife insisted on driving two hours to go to the Clippers game even though the radar showed rain was gonna be pounding columbus right at game time!

That was the beginning of my pure hatred for catholic ceremonies. My friend who's wedding I was in seriously did not tell me it was a catholic wedding (the bride is catholic) until rehearsal because he knew I would be pissed.

My daughter got married a year ago yesterday. Luckily it was an inside wedding...and it did rain that day. One of our wedding presents was the Videographer that did a same day edit and this video was shown at the reception. I'm in it it shortly as the Bald Guy passing her of to her Step-Dad.

Better question is why schedule a wedding. Being single is so much easier.

That was it! We went to the Clippers game as well, lol. We had club seats and had access to a bar area that was covered so I actually had a good time just hanging out and talking for 2 hours.

Damn you.
Damn you!!!!!!
Club area looked sweet! We actually got to our seats behind the first base dugout after it was done raining. I knew something was up when they werent bringing on the tarp!
We stuck around columbus for another 90 min or so and it sprinkled some....but nothing bad so I wonder if their PR guy was just full of shit when he said why they cancelled

Haha we were the same way. We kept thinking they'd take the tarp off any minute. The ushers up by us were wiping off seats with towels so that made us think they'd play, too. I had a feeling it wasn't going to rain much more and it didn't so I was bummed....that was my first time at the stadium and it was really nice.thavoice;749625 wrote:Damn you.

I warned the wife and family that it is a risk planning to go to games this time of year but what do I know right?
Sweet stadium that is for sure. Been there once a couple yearns ago our HS played on that field. I bet those seats high out in LF would be awesome on a nice summer night and endless supply of drinks.
Hope to use the raincheck at some point I hope. Who knows.

Women think that the Powers That Be would not dare let it rain on THEIR WEDDING DAY !!!
Married off Darby Diva this winter, and two nieces are having weddings this June. after watching the chaos, I think that there is a force field in a diamond that turns some normally reasonable females into snarling, self-absorbed she-dogs for a few months.

I asked and they said the raincheck policy is that you can go at a later date game. Basically you get that much credit toward the next game ya go to.
It was funny...scalpers were outside stadium buying people's tix for like 2-3 bucks because they know they can use the raincheck and then resell it and make a few bucks.

Rain Out: A Rain Out is when a game is postponed due to rain. When this happens, the game is usually rescheduled into a double header the next time the two teams meet. In the event of a Rain Out, tickets can be exchanged at the box office window for the same price admission to any regular season game, played at Huntington Park, during this season, based on availability. Season Ticket Holders should refer to the season ticket exchange policy. There will be no refunds issued.
The PR guy did say that the game would be reschduled as a DH for monday and that Easter was going to e the regularly scheduled game. If ya keep you rticket you can get that applied to another ticket later this season.

I believe it would be the diamond bringing out the true woman, after the wedding they manage to get their public facade back.
