We still have one opening in a 12 team dual tournament on Friday, December 30. 6 mats, 5 rounds, no byes. We have an elite officiating crew, most with state tournament and/or college officiating experience. Trophies to top four teams, large plaques to Outstanding Wrestler and the wrestler with the most pins in the least time, small trophies to the All-Tournament Team.

We would like to get this opening filled before school lets out for the summer.

If you would like more information, please contact tournament director Larry Smith, E-mail [email protected], cell number 419-688-0268.

This is the field so far:

Ayersville
Bluffton
Cardington
Coshocton
Garaway
Milan (Michigan)
Newark Catholic
Ridgewood
River Valley (Caledonia)
Thurgood Marshall
Waynedale

It's quite a spread, both in geography (by design) and relative competitiveness, but I feel pretty good about what we've got so far. All except the Michigan team are Ohio Division III teams. Milan would be equivalent to a large Division II team in Ohio based on male enrollment. We would not necessarily reject a Division I or II team, as long as they will have a strong dual team for the 2011-2012 season. We are not interested in a "B" team, JV team, or partial squad. We also do not want anyone who is in the same conference as any of the teams listed.

We may have the twelfth team lined up, but I have to wait until after the coach consults his AD tomorrow (Monday, 4/25) to know for certain.
