Leake gets zeros the first two innings, then Gomes stakes him and the Reds to a 1-0 with a lead-off HR to LF in the 2nd. Leake gets his 3rd zero in the 3rd and has used 46 pitches to face 11 batters.

What is the matter with Chris Welsh? He criticizes Cairo for not getting Stubbs advanced to 3rd for Votto. That's a valid criticsm for no outs, but Leake made the first out! Votto's hit brought Stubbs in from 2nd just the same as if he was on 3rd! 2-0 Reds on a two our RBI by Votto, something Janish couldn't do the inning before. Good job by Votto to take 2nd on the ill advised attempt to cut the fleet Stubbs down at home. The Gomes walks to give Bruce a try for some more two out RBIs. This would be the place for the HR he hit last night rather than just break-up a shut-out with one out left in a 6-0 game.

The Pirates 7 of 9 lefties in the line-up give Leake trouble in the 4th. 37 pitches and 2 runs for a 2-2 game.

Reds 7,8,9 hitters do a marvelous job in the 4th, but get no runs out of it!

Going to try to get Francisco to ground into a DP. Big chance for the young guy here.

Lol at Francisco swinging at an awful first pitch. It's guaranteed.

McDonald breaking out the curveball to Reds right handers with runners on the 3rd time thru the line-up. Got Gomes with the 3rd one of the AB, but lucky to get Stubbs the way he hit the 2nd one in his AB to end the 4th.

With 92 pitches so far, how many base runners does Dusty allow before lifting Leake? I say two by hit or one by walk.

Hell, if he keeps hitting the ball, keep him out there.

Now maybe a little longer leash for Leake with a 9-2 lead after Stubbs 2 run HR.

Hernandez drilled that. Good to see Stubbs with a shot too. Glad to see the offense come to life.

I watched the game later on my DVR and also noticed Chris Welsh getting confused with Cairo hitting away instead of getting the runner to 3rd???
Good thing about Welsh is that he never admitted his error.

Shit is typically within 14 degrees of the actual temperature in which it lies.
Though wind conditions could affect a human more than it would shit.

Why do you choose to be the way you are?

That was an ugly one. MacDonald missed a good chunk of spring training with some minor injury or another. It doesn't look like he's up to full strength. Reminds me of Ohlendorf early last year -- acceptable in the early innings, but has trouble around the fifth or sixth. That's happened in two of his three starts (the middle one, he struggled big early, but was solid the rest of the way through either 6.1 or 6.2).
Reds just got on a roll offensively and started hitting the shit out of the ball. Pirates couldn't keep the pressure on Leake and then got knocked the fuck out.
