Arroyo has been money thus far going 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA. Charlie Morton is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA but has 10 walks and only 3 strikeouts on the season.

Brandon Phillips says he will be back for the game. Nothing wrong with Aroldis Chapman, but it will be interesting to see if he's available. Same goes for how the Reds will handle a close game with Nick Masset losing 3 games already.

Jose Arredondo is almost ready to return, and you have to think if there are any issues with Chapman (injury) or Masset (ineffectiveness), he will be a prominent candidate for the late inning duties as he has experience doing so in Anaheim. In fact, he might be the 2nd or 3rd best RP on the team, especially if his stuff is as good as advertised following TJS.

Pitching match-ups favor Cincinnati on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday it's a toss-up, although probably favorable to Pittsburgh as Mike Leake got crushed last time out. Karstens is still a 5 ERA guy on his career and has struggled worse against the Reds, so I'm guessing on Sunday we will have some serious scoring.

Reds may regret not doing anything in the first with Stubbs on 2nd and no out. In defense of Renteria though, he had two strikes before Stubbs got to 2nd on the steal. He tried to move him up twice fouling 2 pitches off to the right side before Morton got him on a tough 2-2 knee buckling back-door curveball for a K.

Love Dusty bringing in Ondrusek in a meaninglesss situation so he can give up a run and lose some momentum.

Let Bray or Jordan Smith do it....or Maloney finish it out.

Not a good indicator when the opposing pitcher has 5 plate appearances!

The end of the world is near. Charlie Morton gets a complete game win and loses the shutout by giving up a 2 out home run in the 9th...

Morton from last year to this year is like night and day. He OWNED a good offensive line-up.

Seems like we always get walked all over by the pirates the first time we see them. But then own them the rest of the year.
