If this were my kid, I would be applauding the police, and telling them to use the taser next time.

its them damn video games and the rap music!

sounds like shitty parenting met up with shitty public schools and shitty police officers, and an 8 year old with a shitty attitude. The police officer is a girly man, cant even grab a stick out of a prepubescent boys hand.

I agree with about all of this. I heard on news this morning that the calss he was in was a "special" class for kids with behavioral problems. He has now been moved to a school for problem kids that they said he had been to twice in the past. He said on the Today show this morning that he wants to be a Marine, but he thinks if things don't change he will "end up being homeless". Made me feel for the kid. Obviously something is wrong with the wiring, and unfortunately there is not an electrician anywhere near this kid.

kid is probably not right in the head, but if he was trying to assault teachers and/or policemen, he deserves to get the pepper spray.

A couple whacks with the flashlight should've been in order.

Confucious say -- getting blasted by pepper spray at eight is a gateway to being blasted in the face by Bubba's spunk in the pen at a later year.

If this child were in any way, shape or form related to you i'd send the cop who did it a medal.

My comment was in reference to a great line from The Big Lebowski.

How hard is it to disarm an 8 year old? I mean he had a stick, not a gun

Clearly it went over Art's head.

Sounds like the kid deserved it, but also sounds like he has a mental illness of some sort.

I'm tired of the cop-out that tv, video games, internet, etc. make kids do bad things. Kids have been doing bad things for a long long time, it is bad parenting.

I don't have a problem if the principal was paddling kids. I think that is how it was "back in the day".

thats not what they need, all that does is further prove you are inept at educating children. there are bad kids at schools, no amount of physical pain will make them change their ways. I'd also be willing to bet you'd pick and choose who to paddle and who to not, because most high school athletes would probably put you in your place.

Actually, I remember the teachers themselves taking kids into the hall. Rarely was the principal involved. For that matter, paddling was rare anyway. Back in the day - kids had the fear of being in the spotlight AND the paddle and it helped curb problems.
