Bathroom door

I have no idea how this happen but it did. It started very young… I think
I have three daughters (two married w/ kids and one single living in Chicago) and a wife, our house has two full bathrooms and ½ bathroom downstairs on the first floor and another in the basement that is what these girls grew up with. They don’t shut the door … it does matter washing hands, putting on make-up or taking a crap.. They don’t shut the door and still don’t.
When we have guest over, friends and have parties .. that’s a different situation, they shut the door.
When they where kids, teenage, young adults and now ….. they don’t shut the door. The wife doesn't shut the door(learned behavior?)
It’s like they are going to miss something or be left out of the conversation. That the other thing they are have a conversation with their sisters or their mom… wtf with that?
I’m their dad and there is nothing I haven’t seen before but please. It like they come over and everything is old habits and is OK.

Note: They also don’t shut the door at their home also… I ask their husband and roommate..

Do you shut the bathroom door when you’re in your home or the home you grew up in?

Always shut the door, and I live alone. Also, always shut my bedroom door at night. Just habit I guess.

I shut and lock the door also. Sometimes it's the only time I get any peace.

When I lived alone I left it open.

I did always until we got our puppy. He follows me everytime I go in the restroom and if I shut the door, he whines. I also for some reason don't shut it when the kids aren't home and I'm upstairs.

...If I'm home alone, it's open but for any reason someone else (wife or kids) are at home the door is closed.

Seriously who wants that fragrance of my "roses" filling their nostrils!

I leave the stall door open when I take a dump in public. Is that weird?

Not in prison.

To the topic, it drives me up the wall when people don't shut the door. Nevermind what I see, I don't want that SMELL to come wafting out of the bathroom to take over that floor. This was one of my brother's capital offenses when we were growing up.

I always do.

We always did growing up. having a bathroom smaller than a jail cell for 7 people makes it imperative that ya close and lock it or someone is gonna walk in!

Wife's kids on the other hand.......ugh....it bugs the hell outta me.

Personally I think its kind gross.

No it's not weird, just like being in the locker room. We didn't have doors on the stalls, Ive done the same thing.

When I'm home just me and the wife, I leave it open, if I'm taking a piss. Otherwise, it's closed and locked.

When I go back home I hear this conversation

Mom: "I have to go to the bathroom, come in and talk to me."
Aunt: "Ok."

My mom and aunt are really bad to go in with each other and one sit on the edge of the tub, so they can talk.

I will say though that I'll walk in on my mom taking a dump and ask something real quick. I never really think anything of it. I tried to walk in on my wife, so I could ask her something, and she flipped out (as she should have). I just hate trying to talk to someone in person and not be able to see their face.

I personally wouldn't marry a chick who is like your wife just because she freaked out. You two live together and are married, who gives a shit if the other is taking a dumpis

Always shut the door. My wife used to leave the door open occasionally until I told her it freaked me out. She will talk on the phone while taking a dump....even that grosses me out.

There was a stall in St John Arena in the Men's restroom near the section we sit in for Skull Session that was missing a door. One day right after Skull Session ended, I walk into the restroom to take a piss, and there is some dude just takin a dump right there out in the open.
