Nobody in the country can shoot like OSU.

Obviously that's just wrong...but do you really need to post something stupid that you saw on a message board? If I did that, I'd start 100 threads a day.

Especially on college basketball this time a year when the boards are hopping with great discussion (and stupidity).

Sullinger > Ezeli
Lighty = Taylor
Buford = Jenkins (Jenkins better scorer, Buford better all-around)
Craft > Tinsley
Diebler > Tchiengang, Goulbourne, Odom, Walker
Lauderdale > Vanderbilt has nobody else over 6'9 except Tchiengang and he likes to try SG
Thomas > Would start for Vanderbilt at the 4, better than Tchiengang or Goulbourne

It's a dumb comparison by an uneducated UK fan, is all I can gather.

Buford is statistically a better shooter, just verified it on ESPN

Fixed. Verify that one.

Buford isn't asked to be the top scorer. That's obvious with a lower PPG while having a higher shooting percentage.

I made a sweeping statement, you contradicted it using a single stat.

I then changed the statement by referencing another single stat.

Now you respond with deeper explanation on why that single stat doesn't tell the whole story? Oh well, agree to disagree I guess.

I'd say you can argue they are equal players, which doesn't bode well for the idiot who compared OSU and Vanderbilt.

How is a sweeping statement when it is easily quantifiable?

Ok, so Buford is a better shooter and all around player than Jenkins, but Jenkins is = to Buford? Jenkins is the scorer for Vandy. Sully, Buford and Diebs are considered the scorers for OSU. It's not a one man show.

Seeing as how the players who get >15 mpg for OSU score 2 more PPG than Vandy, I think it shows that the ball is spread around much more for OSU.
I'd say you can argue they are equal players, which doesn't bode well for the idiot who compared OSU and Vanderbilt.
Pretty sure all the draft analysts rank Buford at least 10 spots higher than Jenkins

Nor the ACC, SEC, Big East, Big 12, or Pac 10.

And if you wanna talk regular FG%, rather than 3, Kansas is still the only team better.

Id argue that if both players are being drafted and only 10 spots apart, you can easily say they are equal. By that, it isnt as if 1 player is going to dominate the other 9/10 times like the other comparisons. It would probably be split about 6/4 or 5/5

I just wanted thoughts from those who follow the SEC to see what kind of team Vandy was... if its that dumb just let it drop down the page ..

Dont agree with what the OP said he read, but Vandy students are smarter than OSU students, lol. And I agree with S&L. I could post a 100 topics about what people say on other message boards.

I would call Buford and Jenkins pretty much equal.

Jenkins a Sophomore, Buford a Junior.

http://www.nbadraft.net/2011mock_draft (William Buford projected 19th overall his Jr. year)
http://www.nbadraft.net/2012mock_draft (John Jenkins projected 25th overall his Jr. year)

I could bring in the argument that the 2012 draft is going to be much stronger than the 2011 draft, but again, that's another totally different argument.

Equal!!!

Honestly, OSU's bench would probably beat Vandy 9 games out of 10. Dumb comparison.

I read this on Yahoo sports about the game tonight. A OSU poster (probably sleeper) wrote this:
"No comparison. OSU is like a NBA team and probably could compete there. This game will be a entire blowout of Kentucky. OSU 82, Kentucky 52."

Honestly OSU's bench would lose to Vandy 100 times out of 100.

It makes perfect sense doesn't it? OSU is not Vanderbilt. That makes no sense. Vanderbilt is Vanderbilt.
