so I primarily work in Excel, but I need to develop a DB for a report I am running daily now that has too much info to store in Excel. It's an SAP report I export daily into excel and then I have that file linked to Access to append it to the main data tab, and then I want to link a pivot table to the main db file on another excel file...I know how to do all of this. My question is how do I make my query automatically append to the main data table without going through the design view?

Here's the thing...Access is annoying and it cost me 100% in my computers class in college.

Hope this helps.

I was going to say wouldn't you go to Design View of the Query and hit Execute or save the file. If you worked for my company, corporate IT would freak out because you export out of SAP into Excel/other systems. Do you use SAP Business Analyzer? I'm in ATL right now learning to write queries for it.

I don't use analyzer a lot but I have a feeling I am going to start to...IT is starting to push it. I work mostly in something called TM1 which is like excel on steroids...Access is like Spanish to me, I know a little bit of it, and if I work at it I am sure I could become pretty good at it, just I never really need to use it day to day so I'm terrible at it.

That's weird. I export monthly from SAP for metrics for my boss.
