Thinking about taking the wife out for a nice place to eat. Thinking Dayton since it is not too far away. What great places are in The Greene area?

Anyone ever eaten at Jays in the ORegon District? I won a gift certificate there like 7-9 years ago. It is for 100 bones. It has NO expiration date on it so it should be good. is that a great place to eat?

I think DL Hughley is gonna be at a comedy club in dayton......he worth the money?

The title of this thread is an oxymoron.

Don't know about the restaurants, but DL Hughley is awful, unless you like your comedy 100% race based.

You can't go wrong with McDonald's, even in Dayton.

Thats what I thought. I dont mind that type of comedy, but not much of the set to be that way.

I was just looking as I know Heywoode banks is coming soon to dayton and was seeing if it was this weekend.

Frappys at McDonalds are prtty good.

I haven't been to Jay's in a long time, but it is probably still a decent place. For steaks go to the Pine Club on Brown Street by UD. For Oriental try Tai 9 in Oregon District. For Italian try Mamma DiSalvo's at Stroop and Marshal.

I have a 100 certificate for Jays tho......and it is expensive. I am trying to contact them via email and their site but get errors. It is a number of years old but has no expiration date. It is like 10 years old and I know i I try to use it they will look at it oddly because i bet they dont use anything that looks like that anymore

There just aren't many unique restaurants that you would only find in Dayton but nowhere else in Ohio.

Thai 9 is great, used to go there all the time with an ex of mine. She was a bitch, but the food was good.

Found the gift certificate. It wasnt for 100 bucks.

It was for 150 bucks! oh yeah. Looking at their menu that 150 will probably cover it! I got it ten years ago.....no expiration date and I called and they said it was still valid

Sounds like you have your question answered then! I haven't eaten there but have heard Jay's is a pretty good place. If you change your mind and want some other options, let me know. If there's one thing I know, it's good food :)

CC, it is still open.

After hearing about Jays I think I want to try this place out. I've already been to Jags and The Waterfront. Just wondering how it compares. I won't be going to The Waterfront soon, due to their circumstances, but Jags us just a few miles away...and a nice limo ride home when I've had few too many Cognacs.

Forget about that one place you told me about in the O-D that has an amazing sammich. What as that again?

Believe you me, the 150 buck gift certificate swings the decision pretty heavily. TOo bad wiley's and Funnybone have expensive comedians this weekend.
