It's that time again, folks! The season has finished, and now we are all jonesing for more!

On Friday, April 8th, 2011, we - Groveport Madison - will be hosting our annual spring tournament! We usually get somewhere between 55 and 75 kids, ranging from junior varsity to state placers. We once even had a state champ (2x finalist, nonetheless) enter. All that to say it is usually a good 3 hour event with 3 to 5 matches. Hope to see you then...

Just a reminder!

I'll be out and about on Sunday and Monday, handing out fliers. Be ready for Tuesday open mats @ the Port! After that, it'll be Friday. We will have fliers available but remember, A PARENT MUST SIGN (if you are not 18).

After Friday, April 8th, we WILL NOT be handing out fliers. Period. I'm taking a firm stand on this one guys. When the tournament is over, it's over. I refuse to hand out fliers after the 8th.

Awesome. Good on the boy for hitting up the spring club. A little bit of focus in that room will make a HUGE difference come next Feb. and March.

Thanks and see you then.

I personally passed out a flier to almost everyone who showed up at Bradley last night (and there were a lot!). There seemed to be a lot of guys interested so hopefully you'll get a great turnout!

...until he forgot his whistle as he left. So, one of the coaches that was running the tournament gave that whistle to one of his classmates, in order that they return it to him.

As for the tournament...

I'll have final results posted later on today.

First, thanks for all the support! Sometimes, when you open your doors, you never know who, if anybody, will show up. Some weights may not get anybody, other weight classes, 15 kids. But last night, the kids did great!

We had 13 weight classes listed, and all 13 were represented. Only 2 weight classes had 3 kids (meaning 6 of the roughly 65 kids that entered only got 2 matches). 131 and 138 seemed to be very well filled.

I'd also like to thank the coaches and parents for supporting this. It's always great to see you folks at these. And a special shout out to those that even jumped in and helped out! You guys are awesome!

Once again, thanks to all who made last night possible, and I'll results posted soon.
