I think it's very interesting. If for no other reason than the fact that this particular match-up means the Atlantic Coast Conference (4 NCAA teams) has more Sweet 16 participants than either the Big East (11 NCAA teams) or the Big Ten (7 NCAA teams). The ACC has three regional semi-final qualifiers; the Big East and the Big Ten two apiece.

Not to mention what Florida State, third place ACC regular-season cloth award race, did to the Big East's regular-season conference runner-up and popularly argued No. 1 seed last night. Florida State didn't beat Notre Dame; they put an end to their existence. In high fashion.

If Florida State can get the offense they got against ND, they're going to be a tough out for anyone. Singleton probably gets a lot more run to. I'm taking FSU in this one.

It is ridiculous to draw any conference ranking conclusion form this. Nobody who knows anything about basketball doubted the quality at the top of the ACC, but a league is more than 3 teams.

What was in doubt and remains in doubt is the quality of the rest of teams in the ACC.Northwestern hammered BC at BC. Wichita State defeated VT and Virginia Tech. What conclusions should be drawn based on those home losses?
