How do you feel about Pomeroy as a tool for ranking teams? Many people feel they are more accurate than the RPI and should be used in evaluating NCAA tournament teams. I was just wondering what the people here think of them.

I think they are great because they factor in so much information. However, I think they overrate some of the mid-majors. So, technically they are good at ranking a team's "profile or resume", but actually put some of these teams on the court and they aren't as high as KP has them. For example:
16 Utah St.
19 Belmont
25 George Mason
or
51 Colorado
55 Tennessee
92 Memphis
Now, you could put these 6 teams together and there would be almost no difference at all. In fact, Belmont lost to Tennessee twice this year already. Memphis just won C-USA. Colorado just beat one of the hottest teams in the country and hung with #1 Kansas for a good amount of Friday's game.

Love kenpom. Has had the national champion listed pre tournment every year since 04 I think. Great mathematical analysis. Had duke on top last year and was derided. The formula seems pretty accurate.

Maybe because it includes efficiency ratings it favors mid majors because it is easier to be efficient against bad teams. I don't know. That's really the only issue I have with it. It's definitely more comprehensive than RPI. Of course, I am biased as Pomeroy's rankings have Ohio State #1 team in the country, the Big Ten the #1 conference in the country, and says the Big Ten has 11 of the top 83 teams in the country.
