Someone get a site ready. Wikipedia is about to go under.

They are asking for donations, next, pay to read. They must have hired Matt Natali.

Ha Ha Ha! Good to see you care. Is this where I say, "thanks"?

Never noticed it being as prevalent as it is at the top of their site.

Why yes they have in much the same manner as the authors of Open Office, Mozilla, etc. ask for donations.

Pretty common knowledge unless you're blinded by pent-up JJ Huddle hatred.

Yeah, I saw it big up there when I was on there earlier, and my first reaction was, "Huh.....well, haven't they always?....."

At 2.1 million.....though, I'd be curious to see the time frame in which that was raised.

Do you always think people want you to "thank" them?

Obviously, you aren't very bright or clever.

To clarify for you, Chesapeake posted this after the 1 time I posted the word "thanks" in a post of mine, which is also included here:
Society wrote: Ha Ha Ha! Thanks.
Chesapeake wrote: It's funny how Society gets backed into a corner with nothing to say and just starts thanking people.
This was Chesapeake's pathetic attempt at trying to make me look like a bitch such as he does of himself on here quite often.

I hope that helps GoChiefs. I know that you are not able to think for yourself, as was verified by your response on this thread, because any reasonable person can see that it was a one time occurrence.

No one has to attempt to make you look like a bitch. You do a fine job on your own.

I knew they asked for donations. But it's more pronounced than I remember this time around.

I believe they do this "donation drive" once a year.

Only after briefly scanning their FAQ page it looks as if JJ could have taken a few tips from them.

I remember them having a big donation banner up there last year, so this isn't the first time they've been non-subtle with their donation requests.

According to websiteoutlook.com, wikipedia is worth $401.5 million and earns $550,000 in ad revenue every day.

Why the hell are they asking for donations?

Does it cost that much to let anyone in the world with internet access edit your website?

The people making decisions at Wikipedia have above room temperature IQ's. This leads me to believe they won't do the same thing jjhuddle did.

If people are dumb enough to pay them...then good for them. Who doesn't want more money?

I'd rather give $12 to Wikipedia than JJ.

You all don't understand the situation here.

It's not the money, it's the principle. :D

Considering that wikipedia is an ad free site, it makes you wonder where websiteoutlook.com is getting those numbers.
