See I made my pick based on not only their time in the WCAL, but if they played at the next level. Howell is at 1-AA Lehigh University. Sure they won the Patriot League which isn't exactly the SEC, but it isn't D3 football either.

I guess to me "best" means they are able to go beyond HS football and do something.

OQB, I wasn't saying those names were comical. Those are who I thought are some of the best. I won't get started on some of the other comments on this thread either. Definitely have been some good players in the WCAL the past 10 years though!

Don't feel bad. I misinterpreted it, too.

^^ I misinterpreted that as well, Bates to get named that phony award was a joke, he was a solid player in football and basketball and had some great talent around him basketball for sure. But as for player of the decade their were a lot of "great players" C. Middleton, E.Beichler, and K. Kauffman from Smithville. Jackson and Jamison from Dalton, Nofsinger from Waynedale, Morris and Reed from Northwestern were all studs for their team. I am sure I am missing a couple. But a lot of times I think we look at how far the team went when we look at these kinda awards and these kids were all great but I would think you would have to look at the Smithville team that went to the state championship. Not saying that the other kids are not deserving but usually when it comes to something like this you have to look at how far a team went, IMO.
