What to do?
I have a 1984 Pontiac Fiero 4 cylinder, runs good, looks good and drives as good as a Fiero can drive.
With the future of gas moving upward should I invest a little money into this car $1000.00 mechanical repairs (does not include tires a new rims) and make it more dependable vehicle. The MPG of this car is 32 city/40 highway I’m not getting that now but I think I could achieve 26 city and 37 highway. My wife drive almost 60 mile to work and back and this car would be a great summer time car to drive for her.
What is your opinion?
Note: This was my daughter car in high school my plan was to convert to electric/battery power street rod “sleeper”.

Before I did that I would figure out how long it would take to recoup the costs it would take to fix it, and insure it. If ya get only 5-7 mpg more out of it it may take awhile to actually recoupe it all

You must have drawn the lucky straw. Back in the day those things were catching on fire right and left...

I knew there was a reason I always see that as "Firey-o", but couldn't quite remember why.

Fucked-If-Ever-Run-Over....Fiero
If you are looking just at cost...and lets say the Fiero got 7mpg more than your current car....it would take driving 30,000 to save around a thousand bucks you said you would put into it. That does not consider insurance etc.

I have a player whose dad specializes in restoring Fiero's...want him to make it into some hoopty-mobile for you?
He goes to all these Fiero shows and stuff. I had no idea those places existed.

Kill with fire. Or just start it up. It'll do that on its own.

Those Fiero "Ferrari" conversions look and sound like shit.

My dad had a Fiero. They're fun to drive.
Hope this helps.
