Gun privacy

Let me see if I get this:

Good citizen registers their weapon, good citizen take classes to get a weapon permit, legal citizen applies for a concealed carry permit, this information is private information, personal information and was given to the state as a law biding, concerned citizen, under confidentiality agreement.

Some bitch Attorney General Lisa Madigan in Illinois wants to make public record the names of the 1.3 million holders of Firearm Owners identification cards.

Let me see if I get this:

Illegals and Liberals are offended with the idea of police and authorizes to asking to see ID of suspicious individuals because that would be a violation of their rights.

Can’t ask those in the wrong, non citizen for personal and private information but want to spew legal citizen private and personal information gained willingly and legally to the public…WTF

Does the term “concealed weapon “… have a underlying meaning…

Why exactly would it matter if someone knew you had a permit to own a firearm? Seems like nothing to get upset about for me.

Do you think that the person you will ever need that concealed carry on is going to google you just to be sure you won't shoot him?

I think he is more concerned with the Idea of people knowing that he has guns at his home because some people would use that information to decide to break into the home when you are not there.

It is advantageous to break into anyones home when they are not there. Permit carrying firearm owner or not. I think Belly has his panties in a bunch over 'big gov't' telling him what he can and cannot do. Which is fine, he is the model for consistency. I admire him.

You're not understanding where he is coming from at all. It's a matter of principle. Read his post again, it's not about whether a potential burglar will wait until someone with a CCW is gone from their home.
It's about comparisons. Protection of illegal activity while prying into somebody's business who is following the letter of the law.

Why?

I don't own any guns and really don't have any type of desire to own one. With that said, I understand that some people do for various reasons and I'm fine with that.

But I don't understand why this issue would be bothersome to anyone.

I don't own any deadly weapons, and if I did, I would have no problem with it.

It's crazy how bad gun violence is, yet people want to hold onto these "rights" instead of trying to tackle a more serious issue.

If simply passing more laws solved the gun violence problem, that would be one thing. History tells us that such laws do nothing but potentially make criminals out of the otherwise law-abiding.

It's a violence issue. My guns have never killed anyone. My guns stay locked in the safe when I am not using them.

Once again, this is a personal property rights issue. My personal property does not need reported to the .gov nor do people need to know what I own.

It's my legal right under the law to have ownership of a weapon and via the law to gain a legal weapon permit (confidentiality). It is also under the law that I can acquire a permit “Conceal Carry Weapon” permit if I complete classes and training again (confidentiality). Illegals, felonies and criminals don’t follow those rules.
I carry a weapon and I conceal the weapon as best as possible. I don’t want to intimidate or frighten anyone only to protect myself, family and other citizens if required. If you come to my house you will see no signs of a weapon nor the weapon lying around. I enjoy my weapons and enjoy the shooting competition I do it for my personal pleasure.

My point to all this is that the legal system and those making suggestion for citizens who have followed the law are the ones that are always being subject to legislation stupidity.
Give out my name but can’t ask illegal’s for IDs, hand out drives licenses but no proof of insurance or citizenship, receive Government assistance and don’t pay taxes or be a citizen, when will the lawmakers protect the legal citizen and stop hiding for their own failures of Liberalism..

So now my mane will be posted just like sex offenders, dead beat parents, wanted individuals.. Why because I did the right and legal thing…Can I get a publish list of illegal’s or felons?

Why not publicly supply information on those that are handicapped, wheel chair, over the age of 70, single moms … and how about those with 37” of bigger LED TV…..
The government and nobody need to know what I own or what I have legally obtained

Me, because it is my business. Like i said, how about you report all of your private possesions to the .gov, then have them release that to the public. Why do you, or the .gov, have a right to know what I own?

If this is the case, if it really doesn't matter then there's no reason to make it public. There should be no reason to respect the wishes of the gun owners.

A gun is a deadly weapon that is responsible for violence on a daily basis. Do I think this proposal would eliminate the problems associated with guns? No. But maybe it makes a slight difference, and if it does, then it's worth it.

Quit trying to compare the watches I own to ownership of guns. It's just not the same.

Again, I'm pretty impartial to gun rights, but I hate it when people get all uptight trying to protect their "rights" that were written into the constitution 200 years ago.

At one point it was my "right" to smoke in bars, but guess what, things change, and sometimes for the better.

I don't care either way. But I do think gun violence is a serious problem and any steps that can be made to try to slow it down is worth it.
