After Purdue lost Hummel last year, the Boilers became a shell of what they once were. They became an overrated #4 seed because the committee did not want punish them too badly for the loss of a key player.
If BYU is over-seeded at #3 or #4 the team that draws them will be getting a break.

I am praying that BYU ends up in OSU's bracket.

I really think they will lose in the their conference tourney now, so that will probably drop them to around a 4 or 5. Seems fair considering they still have maybe the player of the year.

Maybe the committee will make them a #5 seed to help with the obligatory 5/12 upset.
Situations like this have to be some of the toughest things for the selection committee to deal with. I know that a key player being injured can knock a bubble team out of the tourney, but this is a team that is securely in as a high seed. At least this time there should be a decent body of work to judge how big of an impact this loss has on them. Hopefully they end up playing SDSU again, to really show us the impact.

Purdue made the Sweet 16 last year and lost as a four seed to the #1 seed. I view that as neither over nor underrated.

Roasted.
But seriously, BYU could easily end up overrated this year; I just don't get the Purdue analogy.
