I'm looking at options for different cell phone providers and the t mobile sales person told me that I can use one of their smart phones to connect my laptop to the internet and also talk on the phone at the same time.

I talked to verizon and they want to charge me an extra $30 to tether a smart phone to a laptop and then I can not use the phone at the same time.

Anyone with tmobile that can do that? I have 0 faith in the sales person having a clue. Is there a way to get around that with verizon? My phone is old and it's time for an upgrade.

Is that for verizon too? Can you talk and surf at the same time? (That's not a requirement, but it would be nice)

yes you can tether your tmobile phone, Also couple of their phones actually create their own WIFI network so you can just use that also.

Can you talk and surf at the same time? I think that would be the biggest motivation for me to switch now, but I don't believe the sales person until I see it.
