Okay, I don't think it's any secret that I am a firm believer in God, and that he is best understood through the Judeo-Christian vein. However, at my job, I tend to receive mail on behalf of my clients, and those who do what I do have all developed a bin called the "crazy mail" bin for this mail.

Today, in my "cray mail bin," I received a CD put together of some random person singing into what sounds like an audio recorder (not the best singing, either) by some random person who started this website:

http://marchingonchristians.blogspot.com

I have to confess, I'm pretty weirded out. Thought I'd share the weirdness.

There are weirdos with any and all worldviews ...

That would seem a very oversimplistic view, given the undisputable assertion that there are Christians who are intelligent in any and every quantifiable way.

This borders on mindless rambling with what cannot even be perceived as any rational thought or processing. I feel like the Billy Madison clip is appropriate.

To try to parallel the two is hardly accurate. A person who rambles like this, regardless of their end conclusion, is quite different from someone who can articulate themselves rationally, regardless of their conclusion.

I do believe judging someone's argument based solely on its conclusion is a logical fallacy if the reason by which that person has arrived at such is not addressed.

Same here.

Also, the rest of the mail from this envelope really does seem like what you'd see in a serial killer movie. Strange pictures with no description or explanation (or relevance). Drawing. What looks like a first draft of about a 200-page book.

Bizarre.

Mr. Hayashi , what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this blog is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Quite possibly the best one line in any movie ever.

Beautiful. If this forum had "reps," I would rep this comment.

haha i understand what you said, but the fact you believe in some guy who is long gone, the fact you believe gays are "wrong", the fact you believe some dude named jesus healed people and performed miracles, and the overall point/existence of your dumb religion makes me wonder about a lot of peoples intelligence level quiet frankly. Then again, that's all my respectful opinion of course.

And this is an Appeal to Ridicule Fallacy, though most would probably incorrectly try to describe it as a straw man.

I believe that a being that created natural law is not controlled by that law. I believe that this creator, who shows that things naturally progress with time, would structure his creation to tell a story in much the same vein. I believe that anything functioning in a way it ought not (according to the creator of it) is wrong, though I don't see that the same way as most do. In terms of the point or existence of my worldview (I detest the term "religion"), I'm not sure my worldview itself has a point. I believe it because I am compelled through my own studies and conclusions that it is the most probable.

If you disagree, then we may dialogue, and I hold no disrespect toward anyone whose beliefs are fundamentally opposite my own without sufficient insight into the reasons behind their conclusions. You have to remember, I was a staunch naturalist at one time.

Ultimately, this discussion really wasn't the point of the thread. If this discussion warrants its own, and it is started, you can rest assured that I will be a frequent contributor, as I am firmly convinced of what I believe, because I see it making the most sense, given all respective presuppositions.

Based on the person's "book," it's completely serious.
