per the Wall Street Journal
Here's some very welcome economic news for the White House: The unemployment rate fell in November to 10.0% from 10.2% the previous month, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Nonfarm payrolls fell by just 11,000 last month. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had expected a payroll decrease of 125,000.
According to CBS News, President Obama will deliver a major speech on the economy next week. Expect this news -- along with the CBO report that says the economic stimulus is working -- to be key talking points.

Hmm.... thought the stimulus wasn't working

It's working great, that's why unemployment is below 8%, just like Barack said.

We were close to falling into a deep ditch that would have hurt our ass and taken a while to recover from. Instead, we filled the ditch with worthless paper money and drove over it on our way off of the cliff.

Unemployment is down now because people are running out of their unemployment money and their extensions

The unemployment rate is not affected by whether someone is drawing unemployment compensation.maldase wrote: Unemployment is down now because people are running out of their unemployment money and their extensions

Yes he is. He keeps talking. There are millions of people out there that like to hear him talk, because he does it so well. So when President Obama keeps talking, they are soothed, hence - he's soothing their nerves = helping them.ccrunner609 wrote: Obama isnt doing anythign that is helping.

For those who have forgotten...

One has to wonder how this White House can try to tag onto ANY "good" employment news when this chart is out there.
Oh wait...nobody in the mainstream media will call them on it.

Sad thing is that ditch could have been our last chance for the current generation to wake up. Instead the people of our nation remain asleep on the bus rolling toward the cliff.eersandbeers wrote:Cleveland Buck wrote: We were close to falling into a deep ditch that would have hurt our ass and taken a while to recover from. It does when they aren't receiving they're unemployment anymore so they are forced to run out and find any old job that pays them peanuts.queencitybuckeye wrote: The unemployment rate is not affected by whether someone is drawing unemployment compensation.

Apparently for some doing nothing is better than doing something. I dunno....in my warped reality a few peanuts are better than no peanuts.

I forgot to add that after we filled the ditch with paper, we slammed on the gas on our way toward the cliff.Cleveland Buck wrote: We were close to falling into a deep ditch that would have hurt our ass and taken a while to recover from. Must be why the price of gas keeps going up in this shitty economy.Cleveland Buck wrote:I forgot to add that after we filled the ditch with paper, we slammed on the gas on our way toward the cliff.

This.
I know a few people who have been unemployed, and had chances for other jobs; but they wouldn't take the jobs because they didn't pay as much as their old job did. Too many people, IMHO, expect the jobs to just land in their lap and won't do anything in between, even if the job is below their "standards".
There are always jobs out there. This nation has never been, nor will ever be, jobless.
