(Atlanta) - Chad Reed is a punk. Bubba passed him clean with a lap to go, Reed took them both out with a stupid and imo dirty move. I wish Stewart would've popped his front tire up and nailed Reed to hurdle him. Ricky Carmichael even said with 3 to go 'Its gonna get dirty.'
Next Sat the 5th is the next race, in Daytona. I CAN'T WAIT

Logan, Ohio rider Levi Kilbarger #412 finished 14th in the Lites main, qualified in through his heat race. Nice job.

Pretty good friends with Levi's cousin here in Westerville. Never met him, but heard good things about him.

By the numbers

Some numbers on the course for tonight's Daytona Supercross by Honda, designed by Ricky Carmichael, 15-time American Motorcyclist Association champion.

5,800 tons of dirt (210 dump truck loads) needed to build the course.

420 styrofoam blocks lining the course for safety.

3,120 feet — length of the course.

4 tractors used to spread the dirt.

The race is also going to highlight a tight championship chase. Entering Saturday’s race, defending race winner Ryan Villopoto owns a 10-point lead over James Stewart with Reed sitting in third 21 points behind. Rounding out the top five are American Honda’s Trey Canard (25 points back) and Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey (26 points back).

The Daytona Supercross By Honda is unique on the schedule, and with the course being an outside venue, it’s known for being the most physically demanding race on the circuit.

He's a great kid. Good head on his shoulders. I remember always watching him dominate locally. He was just outstanding.

What a track! Great event, I was shocked and bummed when I heard a roar to my left, then saw a riderless #7 bike roll over the triple. Bubba was fun to watch in his heat, he fell and was 6th, came back to win. The 2nd wreck knocked him silly, but my view was partially blocked by the beer shed. He was 20th, came back to finish 9th.
Villopoto won, taking the lead when Stewart fell and staying there. Reed 2nd, Dungey 3rd.
I got my hat signed by Stewart and a quick photo with him, and my '08 Daytona Supercross hat signed by winner Kevin Windham. That was the mud race. He asked me how I kept it so clean, lol.

Levi Kilbarger got 14th again. Steady solid race on a track like this. Definitely a top privateer.

good races

Jake Zemke Takes Daytona 200 Pole, Rolex
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (March 11) – Jake Zemke, riding the all-black Project 1 Atlanta Yamaha, laid down the class' fastest lap in virtually the last possible moment of AMA Pro Daytona SportBike qualifying to capture pole for Saturday’s 70th Daytona 200 at Daytona International Speedway. His pole-winning time of 1:49.775 also earned him the coveted Rolex watch, which will be formally presented tomorrow before the 200.

Halbert Takes the Win at Opening Daytona Short Track Round
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (March 10) - Graham, Washington’s Sammy Halbert won the opening round of the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Insurance Flat Track Championship, taking victory on Daytona International Speedway's challenging Daytona Flat Track quarter-mile.

“Wow what a race," said Halbert, after leading the final five laps on his Woody Kyle Racing/Fredericktown Yamaha-backed YZ 450F. "I didn’t get that good of a start and kind of had to come from behind. I got hung up behind Johnny [Lewis], and Jake [Johnson] was getting away, but after I was able to get into second I just put my head down and went after Jake.”

Pro racers approve of new pavement
http://www.news-journalonline.com/racing/motorcycle/2011/03/11/pro-racers-approve-of-new-pavement.html

"The new pavement might let us run five-wide through the turns. Last year we could only do it through the tri-oval. This time we might be able to do that over the entire banking."
