...for going 31 in a 25.

Did i get screwed over?

Yes, i know i was breaking the law, but i don't think it was deserving of a ticket. :D

But, of course, i didn't flash my wonderful man boobs, either.

Don't have a case, but I'd be peeved if I got a ticket for 31 in a 25.

Hell, in Boston traffic usually moves at ~55 in a 40.

In Worthington on High Street in Columbus where it turns into a 25 going through their downtown area.

BS!

Admittedly, it was during the time that kids are going to school, but it wasn't a school zone.

My Subaru Forrester must have stood out to them or something HAHA.

i live in worthington and i hate that little stretch. Worthington cops also seem to be a tad bit more strict as well

Yea, been there before. Got a ticket for going 30+ in a 25 about 4 years ago. I was on Wright State's campus late Sunday night. NO ONE was on the road, but the cop started talking about "what if someone was on the road...blah blah blah". Frickin $90 ticket. lame.

They are usually more strict in areas where pedestrians may be walking(whether they are or not).

Dude my buddy got a ticket at Wright State about a year ago on his birthday mind you for a rolling stop at about 11:30 PM. We had just left Mclin after playing some basketball and we were going the back way that goes out by like Meijers and this gork pulled us over.. there was seriously not one car in the parking lot. My buddy didn't act like a jerk or anything just gave him his info and the cop went back to the car and I was like no way is he going to give you a ticket and sure enough a $65 rolling stop ticket. The kicker of it is after he gave him the ticket and was about to leave he says "Oh and by the way Happy Birthday" my buddy said thanks and told him we would go pick him up some donuts and bring them back to him since he obviously didn't have anything better to do...

my mom once got a ticket for going 29 in a 25. this is equally heinous but like others have said, you don't have a case so pay the fine and be done with it.

Ironically my wife and I were just having a discussion about speeding tickets last night because one of us is due for one (we seem to get one about every year and through 2009 none yet).

^^yea I know the feeling. I got pulled over on the road that goes by the Creative Arts Center and the library. I did a rolling stop right near CA Center. I saw a cop perched up the by building's entrance and I said "FOCK!" to myself. He didn't pull me over, but I guess he radio'd down to another cop in the library parking lot. That's the guy who clocked me at 30+. He told me that his partner saw me do the rolling stop but he wasn't going to pull me over for that.

It was 11pm at night, there was no one around. And anyone who's been down to WSU knows that road is somewhat twisty...no way you can actually significantly speed on that road. From that point on, I only used Zink Rd to get to the dorms area.

Yeah, that sucks, but technically you can get a ticket for doing just 1 mph over the limit. The general rule (for officers I've talked with) is "5 or under you're fine, 9 or over your mine." Meaning if your doing 5mph or less over the limit, I won't pull you over, if you're doing 9 more more over I will pull you over, and if you're between it just depends.

You know, if you show up to your court date and plead no contest, they usually lower the fine and take the ticket off your record. Just an fyi.

Yea, i was thinking that krambman, but i'll still probably just go ahead and pay it.

And yea, i think it was probably because their are a few pedestrian crosswalks there and a decent amount of folks crossing the street.

Oh well.

Man! You need a lesson on talking your way out of tickets.
I’ve been able to talk my way out of going 60 in a 40 MPH Wellington, Ohio without having my license on me.
Doing 50 in a 35 zone Note: As he was writing me up he get a serious call. He stopped writing me up, told me to get out and drove off. Who am I to question my good luck…
Pulled over for speeding Officers computer crashed while looking me up… I fixed it (lose wiring in the back, told him how to speed up the computer hard drive) hand shake and thank you we both drove away NO Ticket.
When you get pulled over you have to look for opportunities … it all about making the situation fit your needs.

Note: I have not always been so lucky but 3 out of 12 not bad …. and three of those I was not fined just court cost…

I wonder, men vs. women, what the ratio is for actual tickets as opposed to warnings?

I actually had a cop show up at my place to take back a ticket...... Got a ticket for running a red light at the corner of Glendale and Byrne in Toledo. In actuality, it was turning yellow as I went under the light. When I got pulled over and saw him writing the ticket I started asking questions about exactly what he saw. He then admitted that I had cleared the light, however I could have stopped had I wanted to; hence the ticket. At that point I made him explain to me exactly where and when to go to fight the ticket. (I also had a buddy in the car that heard the entire exchange.) About thirty minutes later I was in my apartment grumbling when the doorbell rang. It was the cop!! I thought he was taking me to jail for being a pain in the a$$. He explained that technically we were "both" right and if I had it handy, he would take the ticket back from me. I was a bit shocked as I had never heard of such a thing before. Makes for a damn good story though.

Seeing as this happened in Toledo, I'm sure he was coming by just to see if you were having a party he could bust. That's the only thing Toledo cops are good at.
