The crew kickoff 2011 tonight with their Champions League Quarterfinal tie vs Real Salt Lake. Should be an interesting season with all the old faces not around anymore, but we shall hope for the best tonight. See you in the Nordecke! Yo si le voy, le voy a Columbus!!!!!

Any new faces I should be looking out for? I haven't really been keeping up this off season. I'm definitely going to try to see them play the Red Bulls in June and check out the man Henry!

the game will be on fox soccer channel ( i believe). the crew opens up at home in march at the crew stadium. it will be interesting to see who starts up front for the crew tonight, my guess will jeff cunnigham or mendoza along with renteria

The return of Cunningham makes me happy.
Go Crew one of my favorite venues and good times in the warmer months. I'll be at a Fire game for sure and I would like to see the Rapids after what they did to us in the MLS Cup.

Have to agree that we looked good keeping possesion last night and the backline was as steady as ever. Just still think we were lacking that creative spark going forward and still not sold on our strikers thats forsure.

Thought he played well was very solid all night and not sure if he even made any mistakes at all. Think he was a great pick seems to be a perfect fit for the team.

He reminds me a lot of Kevin Alston (also IU) in that he can play anywhere. Alston has made a home in the MLS/US Team as a Outside Defender, but played CB, CMF, Outside Mid and Wing in his time at IU and was great at them all. Balchan came into IU as a Mid, but played defense and attacking roles as well. Very versatile players. I think he can be a solid, unheralded player for the Crew.

The Crew were simply out classed last night looked very poor all around. Salt Lake will def be one of the favorites for the MLS Cup this year, sadly our young Columbus side will not be.

We have been prett spoiled as soccer fans in Cbus. Crew are getting a free pass from me this year if they arent very good but I think they will be middle of the road in the MLS.
