Not likely. Most of us will probably be at work, I'm assuming. At least I will.

If someone earns it, I have no qualms with someone having that much more than me. Why shouldn't they? What if you did have a million dollars? Then would it be okay?
This attitude scares the hell outta me. "Since I don't have it, nobody should." You're dangerously close to "we should all have the same amount of everything."

I actually agree with this. It should transcend the teachers. I was at the title office and BMV today and was thinking that.

His union also didn't bargain for all players to make the same amount based on years of experience. It's got its own set of problems, but this isn't one of them.

Not any of the dozen or so that I know (well, yes to paying more into their insurance and retirement, but it's still significantly better than anyone I know in the private, so I'm not exactly shedding tears for them yet ... that includes my teacher friends and my wife).

Then you have their parents or guardians or whomever who may or may not care what the kid does in school or even if he/she goes and who may blame you if you try to instill some discipline when the parent can't. Education is not like making cars or widgets or like selling insurance or underware.
Not one person here said it was. However, not all of the private sector is either. My job in customer service was determined by an undefined group of people with whom I spoke on a daily basis whose frame of mind was also a crap shoot (but I had the added misfortune of knowing that someone was talking to me because something wasn't working for them, so I was already a little behind the eightball). Somehow, not all customer service reps make minimum wage. I started out at $28,800 a year, with pretty decent benefits.
Again, it's supply and demand.
