So my car had some bright yellow fluid leaking this morning. Looked to be coming from somewhere near the front passenger side tire. Any ideas? My stepdad is pretty good with cars and I am sure he will help me when I get home but I just figured I'd ask all of the Chatter experts what they thought.

Sounds like you're leaking antifreeze
Check your hoses or see if the reservoir is cracked

Sounds like anti-freeze/coolant.

Could have been greenish...I was in a hurry and didn't have time to really look. When I searched online I saw antifreeze, coolant and brake fluid as possibilities. Any idea how much any of this is to fix?

could be just a leaky hose relatively cheap to fix....could be your thermostat got stuck for a moment and can cause a lot of pressure and can blow a clamp off a hose. could be a small hole in the radiator and you could throw some beads or stop leak in there for about ten bucks

If it was yellow, maybe a dog pissed on your tire and you were seeing the residual effects.

Never go off of color BTW i got blue coolant in my new car and me and the dealer got in a huge fight as they tried to tell me i put windshield washer fluid in the coolant simply because it is blue.

Antifreeze these days can be green or pink. An antifreeze leak could be coming from just about anywhere, so have your step-Dad look under the hood (while dry) for any wet areas. Possibly a hose, the coolant reservior, a leaking head, I'm sure he'll find the trouble.
Brake fluid could be "goldish color" and generally cars don't leak brake fluid unless you have a split hose, or something else wrong with the brakes to cause the cylinder to push the fluid out.

In your dealer's defense, blue antifreeze is not well know and not usually used it cars. It is has an extreme low freezing point (-100 I think) and has extra stuff in it for rust inhibitors and what not. I think it is used mainly in marine engines and places where temps might be a factor (not Ohio).

About 7 years ago I had bought a new exhaust for my old Mustang GT and a buddy of mine was hurting for money so I told him I would pay $50 to install it. So I go back to his place to get my car and notice a large puddle of fluid under the rear end of the car. The stupid son of a bitch cut the pasenger rear brake line while cutting out the stock exhaust.

I had a shop install custom dual exhaust on an old Ford 4x4 I had. I had the front driveshaft out for some reason that I don't remember. I knew the guy that did the work, and he owned trucks and knew about 4x4s. The SOB ran the pipe right where the front driveshaft went. When I took it back, he said "well how was I supposed to know if the shaft wasn't in?"
I think he did it on purpose because his wife wanted me.

Listen here. I got to my house this morning, parked, ran inside and when I came out there was a pretty big puddle right under/beside my car. I was running late so I didn't have time to investigate further. Turns out it was my little sisters car and she was parked there but had left before I got there.
