Staying the night in town next weekend(hate to, but I gotta as son is in a district wrestling tourney). Well, after weigh-ins, we need a good place for some dinner(and a brew for me). Staying at the Hampton on University, so are there any local favorites nearby? I know my way around town, but I may be in the mood for a good local place instead of a chain.

Steubenville? Eh, McDonald's is a classy place. Ponderosa, though I'd call ahead for reservations

Cross over the river to Weirton. You'll have much better luck.

You should think about staying in Weirton at the Fairfield Inn as it is a newer hotel and They have a couple of nice restaurants close to hotel such as Undos,DeeJays, and your only about 5-10 minutes from the wrestling.

password-I'm already booked, but I'm not against crossing the river for dinner. And which one was the replacement for Happy's, isn't it DeeJays?
skank-I hate the "bottom of the hill" too much shit goes on there.
It's so ghetto.
Since noone has answered my question, thru my own online searching, leaning toward Zalenski grill in Wintersville, or the Japanese Sesame Grill in Steuby.

DeeJays is owned by the same guy that owned Happy's so yes it is.They have good ribs and steak for a decent price.I have only eaten at zalenski's once and it was not bad but if you plan on drinking be careful of the police out that way. There is a bowling alley/night club called 909 right across the street from your hotel that is pretty popular on the weekends if you want to stay close but you will still want to drive across the street at night.Weirton has a nice little italian place called mario's.

The Ville in the mall is decent. If you like a good steak, the Gas Lite in Wintersville. Weirton is a good place as recommended. DeeJays ribs are very good.

Go to Naples on North St, about a block away from big red.

I went to the districts last year and ate at Naples. It was very good.

Seriously considering hopping the river and hitting up DeeJay's. I mean, can't go wrong with some ribs and Yuengling. But, some of these asian places and sushi bars in town are enticing.

Scaffidi's Italian restaurant on Sunset Blvd. past harding stadium is one of the best home cooked Italian places around steubenville.

Ate there several years ago. It was Febraury and cold as heck out...yet there were flies flying around me in Damon's. Thought that was weird....the food was alright though.
